I can't see this happening, the C's just don't have the young pieces for it. The NBA people around the league would be up in arms worse than the Gasol trade (although, Marc Gasol has made that trade look a lot better).

If it does happen though:

I think you are over looking the potential of Giddens, as they did with the younger Gasol.  ;)

lol :D

I say you got to pull the trigger on this trade, the team is in dire straights right now but it seems imminent Ray Allen gets dealt now, and this seems like "max value" for him imo.

Interesting. Who comes off the bench?

And who plays the 2?

I don't think Paul is quick enough to defend two's on the premieter anymore, can butler?

Assuming butler can I'd say you rotation looks like:

PG: Rondo/Dainels
SG: Butler/ Daniels/ TA
SF: Pierce/ Butler/ Ta/ Daniels
PF: KG/ JAmision/ davis
C: Perk/ Sheed/ Davis

The above is pretty rock solid, in particular, look at that wing rotation
If the C's are willing to take on the money, wow!

I think the Wizards would rather get talent back though. This could be their way of signaling that if all you're offering is a salary dump, the C's will take care of that up the ante.

It also may not be a coincidence that the Wizards pick Ray over Al Harrington or Howard and Dampier. Even if it's only for a few months, they need the influence of truly professional veterans badly there. Ray would provide that above others.

Or Ray might have told them he'll give up a million or two in a "wink" "wink" fashion.

Harrington and Dampier are less likely to do that.

I think that if this deal gets done, Danny ships Big Baby to Charlotte to get Augustin.
Exactly what I was thinking.  Man, if all this happens it'll be like Christmas in February.

I would start Tony Allen at the two but only start him and play Daniels a large amount of minutes there

Rondo/Eddie
Tony/Daniels
Pierce/Butler/Walker
KG/Jamison/BBD
Perk/Rasheed/Williams

Heck depending on how KG and Pierce are feeling, I might bring them off the bench and start Antawn and Caron for a while until KG and PP get healthy
Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

Doc has always been big on Mike Miller--any chance discussions are concerning Miller or Butler?

Both are making quite a bit of money, but for Butler it's worth it. For 2 years it's worth it for Jamison. Even though he's 33.

Just read this on a realgm board, take it with a grain of salt and don't get your hopes too high but... definitely exciting!

Saw this elsewhere online, but someone says that people at the Boston Herald are saying this deal is basically done, and they are merely finishing up final details before finalizing the trade. I haven't heard that yet with any of the other crazy rumors. I really hope this goes down!

IF it does, we might as well be introduced as the 2010 NBA Champs from now on lol.
