An interesting fact is that Big Baby can't be traded straight up for Augustin, but if you include both you can make it a three-way deal. How about this blockbuster?

The only reason I think this move might be possible is that Danny said a while ago that he had met with Ray and his wife for discussions.  He didn't say what they discussed, but just the reason they had them indicates to me that they were talking about more than rumors.  I hope Danny was saying that something like this might happen, and that Danny was assuring Ray that he would be back with the Celtics...and wouldn't have to uproot his family.  But as always,  I am the eternal optimist.

ESPN has picked up the rumor.  No surprise there.

I'm surprised they haven't reported my made up Minnesota trade idea.

I guessing Baby get included in this deal. He is fairly cheap for next season, and semi-talented.

More likely the discussion has probably turned to draft picks.  How many 1st will Boston include?  One or two.

if this trade did happen. I could see Red - stoking one up!
This would be one of 'his' type of deals.

Baby gets only included if we swing him to Charlotte in a three-away swap with Charlotte and get back Augustin.

If we're going to get Augustin I'd rather have House leave at some point. Too many guys sitting around sulking can get bad.

I will say, too, if the C's are willing to do it, it's a great deal for the Wizards.  Yes, they get the short end of the stick with talent, but honestly, the worst thing you can do in the NBA is pay big contracts on a team that isn't going anywhere.  They are never going to win a title with that core.  So unless they can get a team to give up similar cap relief and young talent, I don't see why they don't make that deal.  And I can't imagine many teams willing to give up good young talent to take on the contracts of Butler and Jamison, who are nice players, but certainly not the type of players you build a contender around.

not a big fan of it.  Both guys aren't young.

Nobody trades away young talent for expirings... Caron technically is 5 years younger, which doesn't seem like a lot, but if you look at the difference in seasons played... it makes my eyes open wide.

Wdleehi, you think it's realistic to include Miller and Stevenson (who they will insist upon in any Butler / Jamison deal) to get them under the lux tax?
