Because of you recomendations, my husband and I took Jake (14) to see "Moneyball" this afternoon.  Terrific movie!  Thanks.

I watched Avatar (or at least parts of it) for the first time since seeing it in theaters.  Man, without the big screen and the 3D, that movie just doesn't hold up that well, huh?  I never thought it was amazing to begin with, but watching it on cable, it seemed cartoonish.

Rewatched super 8... Amazing flick. Highly suggested.

Yesterday checked out Scream 4. I've always been a fan of the franchise so I was actually excited for this one and I was somewhat pleasantly surprised.

Hugo in 3D was somethin' special.  Really cool story and visuals.  Can't get it out of my head.  Definitely the least gratuitous 3D movie I've seen yet, it was a very natural part of the scenery.

Oh, and Sacha Baron Cohen was great in his role.
Yup

Mr. Nobody

An indie film worth watching if you dislike cookie-cutter hollywood movies... fresh style of directing and a unique plot.

I'm going to see this new Hollywood version of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" at some point this week and I couldn't be more excited. I love the original. When I first heard about the remake I was totally against it. Since seeing the trailer my mind has completely changed. David Fincher is the perfect director for this film and after hearing Trent Reznor's work on "The Social Network", I can't wait to hear what he does with this film. I gave the original a 9/10 because of a few inconsistencies and a few corny moments. This gives Hollywood a rare chance to make a remake better than it's foreign predecessor. Having said all of that... I'm going to watch the original today to refresh my memory on the story.

I need a break from watching all of these Christmas movies with my girlfriend. ::)

EDIT: As i posted that, I received this exact text from my girlfriend:

"Can we make it feel like Christmas today?"

...looks like I'll be watching more Christmas movies.  :-\

Sherlock 2.  Very entertaining and kept my interest, but not winning any awards.

The Tillman Story.

I really liked it, and thought it was one of the better documentaries I've seen. I'd give it a 4.8 out of 5 stars -- I dock it 0.2 pts because there was just a tad too much partisan stuff.  Not a lot, mind you (o/w I'd have knocked it down a peg or two).

Sherlock 2. Critics hated it, I loved it. Funny, action packed, and in the tradition of the first film, a freakin fantastic group of villains.
