How would you handle having [Allen] Iverson and [Zach] Randolph on the same team?I’ve wondered about that. I feel like Iverson still has a lot to offer. He needs to play. He’s always been a guy that wants to play. You can imagine guys on that level that play a lesser role, that’s a tough sell. You can talk about it, but when he gets out there he wants to play. He wants to prove he’s still one of the best players of all time. He’s not a guy that’s just a good player, an All-Star player, he’s one of the leading scorers in the history of this game. Coming off the bench averaging eight points a game, that’s going to hurt that career average. He must have known what his role would be on that team.I’m glad I don’t have those issues.
he'll end up in cleveland to take delonte's place
You guys really think Iverson would care about his career scoring average if he was on a championship contending team?Yes, on the freaking Grizzlies, I can understand Iverson using them as a stage to prove he still had game left, and when he wasn't given that opportunity he felt betrayed and quit.

Allen Iverson(notes) isn't doing much for the Memphis Grizzlies yet this season since he's out with an injury but he's now saying that his lack of performance last year with the Detroit Pistons can mostly be blamed on his coach, Michael Curry, according to Detroit News. And Pistons guard Rip Hamilton is agreeing with him."It could have worked out," said Hamilton. "I just thought the coach we had at the time (didn't) put us in situations where we all could be at our best. When you don't have that, it makes it difficult."Iverson clearly felt that way. He's saying that if he had been playing under current Pistons coach John Kuester, things could have been a lot different. "It would have been a hundred percent different -- a thousand percent better. I would have known what I was getting into," he said. One of Iverson's main beefs about Curry was that he wasn't straightforward with is players.
I don't really want AI on this team. He could fit and could be a great weapon off the bench, but it's a lot of ifs. If he came here I would rout for him, but I rather not have to.
I remember 2-3 years ago, a lot of people around here wanted to inclued Al Jefferson in a trade for AI (I was not one). Now most of us wouldn't sign him for the minimum. Just shows once you hit the wall, you hit the wall.
