I think this team can use AI even when we are making shots.

I hate to say it but it's the "truth" and I don't mean Paul Peirce!

I agree with GF.  We need to go get this guy.  This is a team where if he acts out and can't get along - his career is over.  If he plays well and helps us to win a championship - he will again be looked at as "the answer" and will get another contract somewhere.

The Grizzlies thought the same thing.  Except for the championship part!

I think AI is unofficially being blackballed throughout the league. Any report you see of teams being interested in him are completely made up by the writers who think it would be a good idea, but with no legitimate sources to back it up. I think there's a good chance that his career is done, unless some team has a significant injury and makes them desperate for some guard help.

He did it to himself.

Will not come off the bench.

Expects to be the man that the offense is centered around.

Quits on a contract after three games.

Why would a good NBA team want to deal with that headache?  If this was the NFL, the AI show would have been gone years ago.

I don't think I've ever seen an NBA player blackballed like Barry Bonds.  If a player's level of play is greater than the headaches he causes, he always has a job.  Obviously teams feel AI is not worth the headaches.

Yeah, that's why I love the NFL. : )

I'm not comfortable about referring to "the league" in this thread since we are talking about individual teams making decisions, and a player who has given no one a reason to think he would accept the available roles.

This is a simple yes or no question, not if you want to see him here or not, but will he be signed by Danny at some point this season?

I honestly think he will be. Since he has already been discussed this year by the C's, and almost traded for a few years ago, I think it has about a 75% chance of happening . Danny obviously likes what he can bring to the table and will talk Doc into signing him to take some mins away from Ray so he is fresh for the playoffs.  He also gives us another look at PG if rondo is struggling and moves Daniels to PP's full time backup at SF.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I don't think we are in any position to deal with a personality like AI right now...if this were last year (before he went to Detroit and when the Cs were more 'stable'), then I think it would have made sense- especially over signing Starbury (who I still don't think was that bad when he was here)...things need smooth out a bit before we take this chance...

I dont think this team, as currently constituted, wins the championship. I'm not the only one who feels this way.

"As a season ticket holder", I hope they would do everything they can to have a championship team. I feel that Allen Iverson helps this team. If not - we cut him, and we can at least say we tried.

I'm against signing Iverson. With that said, and my thoughts about it put apart, I don't think it will happen for one reason : the team will need him in case of a major injury or major struggles. And I see none of this scenario coming true so... no.
