If they sign Iverson, Doc may re-evaluate his decision to come back and coach next season.

Haven't heard anything from Iverson to indicate that he *gets* what he should be doing now; being a sparkplug 6th man.  He absolutely COULD be that guy for us, or for a lot of teams, but I have absolutely zero faith that his ego will let him do that.

Can't see Rondo and Iverson coexisting, not at all.

I know Danny inquired about him the past. How weird would it be to see KG, PP, Shaq, AI and Ray on the court at the same time?

Too bad it's not the year 2000...

Still, it could be enough to get us #18 with the other pieces we have.

For the vet minimum, I say yes. Low risk, high reward. Just like we all said with Starbury and Cassell, if he gets out of line at all and there's even an inkling of him leading our young folk astray, get rid of his sorry punk butt.

However, I think he has something to prove and would take a one year vet deal for both a chance at a ring and to maybe enhance his value for next year. As a second unit scorer, we could use him.

AI is still in free agency, incredible but true, a future hall of fame with over 24,000 points scored, I think Iverson would fit perfectly into the Celtics, Rivers is a coach who is respected by all.
I really love to see AI with The Truth, Ray, KG .... would be great.
Iverson is more motivated than ever now and wants to win and help a team win the ring, if he would accept coming off the bench could be a great option.
AI is an important player for the playoffs, he can still help any team.
Ainge,Iverson ever you like, give him a chance.

Putting aside the issues he may bring to the chemistry (especially when paired with Von Wafer and Jermaine O'Neal), it would be difficult to see him on the Celtics considering our need for a big man.  Pending the signing of Luke Harangody, our roster stands at 14.  By adding a big man such as Shaq or Kwame Brown, our roster stands at 15.  The only solution would be to sign and trade players for either AI or the big man.

Plus, I'm not sure we need AI.  We already have Von Wafer and Bradley covering the 2, as well as Nate covering the backup PG slot.  No space for him unless we trade Von Wafer (December 15) or Bradley (I'm pretty sure we have to wait a month or so).

I think Iverson is got a lot of undeserved bashing over the past few seasons.

But, I do not want to see him come to Boston. Not with the roster we currently have. There is no need for him. We need a C and a SF. That is it. Unless we trade a current backcourt player for one of those positions, there is no reason to add another undersized, one-dimensional guard.

I really don't believe he would be a bad locker room guy at this point in his career. I hope he gets a shot somewhere, just not here.

We already have enough combo guards.  What we need is a backup small forward who is more reliable than Daniels, and another big man.

Once we signed Nate Robinson we removed any sort of role on this team for Allen Iverson.

Over the hill ball dominating attitude problem with eroded skills.  I will take a massive pass.

Iverson, in addition to being washed up as a useful NBA player, is a third arm on this club, as Roy points out. We have no need whatsoever for a combo guard, particularly one whose game is deteriorating in free fall.
