Nate is better at this stage of AI's career.
Therefore Nate is better than at least 81% of the guards in the league.

Iverson is cooked as a star, and can't/won't be a role player.

At 35 Allen Iverson would probably be fine coming off of the bench in Boston. I doubt he'd be that much of a locker-room distraction; I mean, he's not Ines Sainz, LOL.

I'm 'all in favor' of bringing 'Allen' here, people have already mentioned the fact that he is old, however look at Sam Cassell, Stephon Marbury and Tyron Lue...  ;D

That, or he should play for the Knicks.

At 33 he wouldn't come off the bench, at 34 he wouldn't come off the bench. Why would 35 be any different?

Well, it's either that or Chinese baketball at this point for A.I. so theoretically he'd have to make some sort of a compromise...  >:(

He said he'd make that same compromise for Memphis and for the 76ers last year, and couldn't do it.

Why should the Celtics believe him now? Why should take such a risk when they already have a competant backup PG?

I want him!!! Always have since he has been available as more of a flier type guy!

Weigh it out:
~ Adam Morrison Bench and does
~     Not contribute as a bench
                      ~       Player
                    ~
 Allen Iverson
Arguably one the best players in the last 10 years
has won an MVP, can score can shoot has range. Yes he is a head case and so where Marbury, Nate even Peirce to an extent but Doc Rivers and the Vets will be able to handle him. So if he is willing to come off the bench, which he will be considering he 1. has no other offers in the NBA and doesn't want to be exiled to China and 2. the most important fact is he would have a legitimate chance of winning 1 maybe two titles here. 3. If he did what he was asked and won a title, this would basically erase the last to years of being a misfit could of been great player. It would solidify his career!

Again I ask Gomesfan why should the Celtics believe he'd be okay with playing 10 minutes at backup PG behind Rondo after he bailed on two teams last year?

I'll also say why do we need a 3rd backup PG when our roster needs are shooter, wing defender, and big man. (none of which Iverson fills)

I understand what our needs are and agree, but DA also like best available as well.

As for his roll...... Would you rather play in China for say 25 minutes a game where no one will see you and not care and pretty much saying to everyone you where right I am AI the **** that is about me and I do not care about my legacy or have to play 10-15 per game for the Celtics and win a title and solidify your career and legacy?? You tell me!

Iverson would be a major downgrade from Nate.  Iverson's athleticm has declined, and he can't shoot or defend.  Because he was once a great player is not a reason to sign him.  Isiah Thomas was once a great player too...

He would be the man in China.  He would be a huge star, a big celebrity, he would dominate the games.  For a guy with Iverson's ego, where is the downside for him?  Sounds like a good gig to me.

I'd argue that point all day.  Not even close to the top 10 players in the last 10 years.

China or a little further east would be a good landing spot.

1. It would be tough to convince Robinson to split his minutes which will likely be only 18 to 20 mpg anyway.

2. AI would never agree to play anywhere under 25 minutes a night.
