I don't want him under any circumstances.  He has been really bad on the court and a jerk off the court the past couple of years.  He can't/won't play defense, and he can't shoot.  I'd rather have Nate any day of the week.

lets sign oliver layafette he looked good when he played for us and he could be the back up for rondo that we need. the only problem is that our backcourt is really small with him or AI

If none of our other options floating around out there work, and AI somehow ends up in Boston, he will be fine.

He won't disappoint us, and will help us.

Oh yes.

Why, he will say all the right things in the offseason.

Then, once the season starts, well, AI has never changed.

Last year, he said all the right things in Memphis.  Then he quit on them.

No AI.  Just tell Nate to jack up as many bad shots as he wants.  Same on court effect.

Allen Iverson is pathetic, and a quitter. He had to "quit" because of his daughter, but yet was seen partying at a strip club/night club. The guy lets down every team he goes on - No team is gonna give him the time of day.

He quit 3 teams in a row.  We must be special.

Just no.

He'll never be able to reconcile his declining abilities and his roles as a low minute bench player.

Well, The Boston Celtics are Very Special, indeed. We all know this, right? Just call us "The Halfway house of the NBA ;D"

Or call us Blessed to have a great Coach like Doc Rivers.

Let's see..the following players have all had somewhat "Troubled" character issues:

Stephon Marbury - He came in, won a playoff game for us against ORL in 08-09...by all accounts, he was no trouble for Boston. His only issue? In the offseason, he evidently wanted more money than Boston was willing to give him, and he left. But while he played for us, he was not any trouble at all.

Rasheed Wallace - Some here didn't like his signing a year ago..during the regular season, some here hated him...but boy! Did he show off in the Postseason, right? Almost took us to Banner 18 in that game 7, too.

Now, most of us would prefer him to Shaq or Brad Miller. I would.

Nate Robinson - another troubled player..supposed character issues in NY. Well, besides maybe Sam Cassell, he's been our best backup PG in a few years, I think.

TA - well, we all know his story. Now look at him - he's more mature, taking better care of himself, and has gained the rep of a big time player in big games and a Kobe stopper. Plus he has several suitors.

Who would've thought this about TA a year ago?

I cannot change other folks' opinions of a player because they are in fact their opinions, and that's ok. But all I'm saying is why not give AI a shot - if TA, Nate or any of the other supposed signings don't work out?

Plus, even Antoine Walker became a better player under Doc Rivers....Doc Rivers is the Key in Any player situation we have.

Antoine, while not having character issues while in Boston, was known as a Volume shooter..he would jack up shots indiscriminately, from almost anywhere. Well, Doc managed to help him improve his shooting percentage a few points, according to NBA.com historical player search.

When Antoine came back to us in 2004-05, he shot over 44% from the field..much better than his previous seasons. He only played 24 games that year, but still - under Doc Rivers, he changed his game somewhat, and became a better player. Even Defensively.

Toine left with the signing of Big Al after that.

All I'm saying is that if AI did end up in Boston, there is no doubt in my mind that Doc Rivers could make it work. Doc has been proven to be a genius in making players better, no matter who they are.

Well, to anyone who thinks it isn't going to happen, we should probably look at Danny's signings of Cassell, Marbury and Rasheed.  Danny's certainly not been adverse to signing a headcase.  Second, Danny has been tied to him for years and there were rumblings he was going to pair with Pierce years ago.

At the minimum, I'm not sure Danny could keep his hands off.  And at this point, I don't see the harm.  A minimum deal only hurts Wyc's pockets (and then not even that much, as the league pays for part of it).

Only Marbury fits into the AI class of selfishness.

While both Wallace and Cassell had their issues, fitting into a locker room and sharing on the court were not their issues.

AI will be fine here if he comes. Throughout his career he had no veteran leadership in the locker room to keep his ego in check. The closest thing would be in Detroit. But Sheed + Hamilton is no KG +PP + Ray. AI's character will not be an issue here in this winning environment.

What makes you think he would listen to them?  In his mind, he would be the biggest star.

And, as last year proved, he can not handle the idea of coming off the bench.

There is not one sign that he is capable of being the player those who wants to sign him want him to be.

I know (though Sam liked to jack it up), however, my point remains: whether right or wrong (and I'm undecided), don't rule out Danny signing AI.
