Just throwing this out there, but a Bosh for Garnett swap might be the best deal Toronto could get this season. What else is out there? Amare? Lee & Robinson? Ty Thomas? In almost every situation they are taking 50 cents on the dollar.

Interestingly, I think the trade helps both teams this season. Toronto is young enough and good enough at scoring that Garnett's toughness and intensity could be just the thing they need to make a second round playoff push. Conversely, Bosh is better than Garnett now, and his young legs and comparable skill set would be a perfect fit on a team with enough toughness to go around.

no thanks.  Bosh doesn't have the same tough-mindedness of Garnett.

Now if the C's are struggling because KG is faltering near the trade-deadline, I'd think about it then.  Not sure I'd do it still but I'd think about it.

No thanks here, as well.

Garnett even with the surgery and the advancing age is still more valuable than Bosh. Garnett will continue to get back into playing shape as the year goes on. And Garnett is a better (and more willing) defender than Bosh.

Through no fault of Bosh's own, he just hasn't struck me as a defensive stopper. That could change if this trade ever went through and he came to Boston, but I doubt it.

Bosh has always impressed me offensively. Garnett can still put up decent offensive numbers (PHX game), but a player will go to the rim more VS Bosh than Garnett.

Plus Garnett just improves a team by his presence. Yes Bosh would be an offensive plus for Boston, but Garnett brings the whole package IMO.

I have no doubt that Garnett would do same for Toronto, so I agree with the 2nd round playoff scenario he brings to Toronto in event this trade happens.

I do realize that in last few games, opponents have been scoring more in the paint, though. Well I would still take a well-rested Garnett on Defense than anyone else.

Overall, not many players in the League make a team contenders just by their presence. Garnett alone does that for Boston.

Garnett, even with him recovering and getting older, keeps our Championship window open for this year and next, IMO.

As much as Celtics fans hate the idea, I think the Celtics would do this without a ton of hesitation, so long as Bosh promised to re-sign.

I don't see the incentive for Toronto, though.  They're too far away from being contenders to have KG be worth it to them.

Yea....DA would say yes before Colangelo had a chance to change his mind.

I don't think we win a title with Bosh though, I think we have a chance to with KG, if he's healthy.

Defensively Bosh has been better so far this season, but in the past years that aspect of his game has been well below what KG provides.

But you're right, the upside of having a young player of Bosh's caliber would mean that DA would do the move in a heartbeat.

Agreed. I think DA would do it, but I don't think Colangelo would. Bosh may not bring the "whole package" like KG, but I bet he would look a lot more KG-like on defense if he were playing off Perk and surrounded by the players on this team (instead of Rasho, Andrea, a one-legged J. O'neal, Chris Humphries, etc.). Rondo, Bosh, and Perk as future cornerstones? Sign me up.

Agreed.  Rondo-Bosh would be a great young nucleus around which to rebuild the franchise, for the long term.

Toronto would never do that trade.  If it was on the table it would be foolish for the celtics not to accept it immediately as long as an extension was in order.  Bosh is one of the best young big men in the league and if we were to trade garnett for somebody (which won't happen) Bosh would be at the top of my list

I hate to say this - I love Garnett - but I'd do this trade in a heartbeat, as long as Bosh resigns.  KG remains an elite player for a few more years.  Bosh could be an elite player for a decade.  With Rondo, Bosh and Perk, I think you only need one more All-Star caliber scoring threat before this team is considered a contender again.

As a slightly off-topic comment, I would love to see a situation where KG becomes Bosh's mentor.  They have similar builds, similar games (minus the defense right now), and I think that KG could really help Bosh reach his potential.

I love Garnett (like really love- favorite non-celtic for many years), but if we could get Bosh, I would definitely do it. Garnett is still extremely valuable, but I think we depend more on his mindset nowadays more than his actual play. We already have a defensive core and Bosh would be psyched to buy into our philosophy, as it would mean he would have a legit chance at a championship.

Garnett provided a championship- which is what he was brought here to do. If we could solidify our future with an excellent big man and still give ourselves a good chance in the present, I think we do it in a heartbeat.

No way! What happens today? First a thread around Perk and now KG?? Blasphemy!! >:(

Ok, ok...kidding a little but no way I would deal KG for anybody in the league. KG returned us to the path for glory and he's still an awesome player.
