In one sense I agree that Hudson is the anti-Gerald Green/Kedrick Brown. His natural gifts are not why he's on the team right now; it's his fairly polished game.
Still, I wouldn't get too excited yet. Someone like Big Baby is going to have a hard enough time finding minutes on this team, let alone one of the last picks in the draft. Furthermore, he's yet to do anything in a meaningful game. More importantly, if he does, we'll have to ask ourselves, is it because he's really good or is because no one is paying attention to him because he's on the court with four All Stars? Lots of players have tricked teams into big contract extensions because they played well on teams where the opposition ignored them (Jason Caffey and Austin Croshere jump to mind).
Still, I think he could be of value. Though I don't think he does anything this year, he might prove to be Eddie House's replacement next year. But unless he prove he can contribute next year, I'm not overly enthused. This team doesn't need an undersized 2 as part of their rebuilding plan.
