I'm finally starting to see more(not alot) of people jumping on the Nocioni bandwagon. The only problem is that all the posts are for keeping Scal and Tony till the trade deadline then getting Noc. Why? Get him now so we can build some team chemistry and solidify the roster NOW. Here's 2 hole fillers..

SAC signs&trades Bobby Jackson w/ Andres Nocioni to Boston

Boston sends Tony Allen, Scalabrine and JR Giddens to SAC

For BOS, we get our vet PG, our backup SF, and open up a roster spot. With Noc's contract, it can be used as an expiring in 2 years OR he can be cut on a team option in 3 years. He's only 30.

For SAC, they open up 9 mil in salary plus some for luxury tax, plus a draft pick if needed one. They would also get a 3 million trade exception from Noc's contract size. And with Scal being expendable in their roster, he could be waived and resigned.

Rondo, House, Jackson         Lester Hudson
Ray, Daniels
Pierce, Nocioni, BWalker
KG, BBD         Scal resigns.
Perk, Sheed, Sheldon
Can't stop, Rondo!

In a radio station here in Argentina, one of the most friendly of the argentinian players journalist said last night that Nocioni tells him he want to come to boston, and he tells him there's a chance too.

What do you think?

the only way it's a trade, right??

Sounds like a great plan.  I've been wanting the Noc trade all summer (or Stephen Jackson, or Maggette would have been good in my book to, onerous contracts or no).  I'm all about maximizing our very limited window.

By the way, do you have a link of that info? It would be nice to know if there's some article about it. ;)

Here's a LINK! Andres could be coming!!!
http://www.adnmundo.com/contenidos/deportes/andres_chapu_nocioni_podria_pasar_boston_celtics_18_09_09_deportes.html

Just use google translate. It basically says that he could be coming here. However, it does say that Big Baby could be in the deal. I'm not sure if i want that. here it is in English, as used from google translate:

"Rumor newspaper, forward Santa Fe, now in Sacramento, could happen to the Celtics. Negotiations are underway and in the coming days would have a concrete offer of the franchise in the Eastern Conference.

When it seemed that the fate of the Argentine players in the NBA was closed last night came the rumor that Andres Nocioni could leave the Sacramento Kings, the worst team last season, and further his career in Boston Celtics, a candidate for the title.

The reporter from ESPN, Chad Ford, an expert in American League and usually succeeds his information regarding the operations of players, said there are negotiations between the two franchises that are "talking seriously" about the possibility of transferring to "Chapu.

Ford stated in his text that "Nocioni is a rugged, versatile forward two positions you can do the same work of James Posey. The forward, key in the title the Celtics in 2008, played last season with the New Orleans Hornets and since his departure, coach Doc Rivers Yields never found a player to come from the bench and think why the Santa Fe.

Sacramento would be interested in freeing himself from his contract ($ 21 million for three seasons, with an option for a fourth) for greater availability of money for next season. Nocioni's age (29 years, turns 30 in November) is another of the issues that bear discussion.

The Celtics, who joined Rasheed Wallace and Marquis Daniels, formalized the offer in the coming hours and offer as a bargaining chip to Glenn Davis and Tony Allen."

So this is a Chad Ford rumor :o I guess we could take this into consideration already (unlike the rumors of Arroyo or Oberto previously this summer)

I hope we get Nocioni!

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Just to be clear, the Chad Ford quote is from February 19, at last year's trade deadline.

Hopefully they are talking about Sergio Rodriguez, not the overpaid, slow, unathletic Nocioni.

Sorry, but no. I mean, the comment was made in the middle of a sore of prediction of the new season, who will be the best team, etc...in that context, the man did the comment...

Amen. I can't believe how overrated Nocioni is around here. He's a 5-10 minute guy paid like a starter.
