Hopefully they are talking about Sergio Rodriguez, not the overpaid, slow, unathletic Nocioni.

I seriously hope you're being sarcastic. I can understand if you don't like Nocioni (why I dunno, can you elaborate on slow?) but it's quite clear there's a bandwagon for Nocioni on CelticsBlog while I haven't even heard of Sergio Rodriguez. I'll be honest, I don't know anything about either player, apart from the fact the article supposedly says Nocioni can play both the 3 and 4, so he SOUNDS like that backup 3 we could use against the better 3's in the league. So, do you mind telling us why you think Sergio would be better?

Amen. I can't believe how overrated Nocioni is around here. He's a 5-10 minute guy paid like a starter.

You haven't seen him play, right?

Just to be clear, the Chad Ford quote is from February 19, at last year's trade deadline.

That makes more sense. After committing the cash to Sheed, and the roster spot to Daniels.... I can't see Boston taking in Nocioni and his remaining $21/3 salary, to only play 10-15 minutes per night.

Screw it, I'll take both of them. Give me a slightly overpaid (Although not terribly unathletic) Nocioni and my 2006 draft binkie for Tony, Scals and Giddens.

I'd be more than content. Other then the MLE, we aren't players in free agency regardless. So who cares about salaries?

So either there is a mistake in the info or the newspaper is completely wrong and not professional at all... But it's curious that we have another thread about a recent interview in a programme with a person close to Nocioni talking about the mutual interest between the Argentinian star and the C's

I've seen Nocioni play many times when he played in Spain and also multiple times while he was in Chicago and man, he is really, really good. He would be another fierce competitor and defensive force to add to the team. He is experienced, has won everything with the Argentinian squad and he is also a vocal leader.

Bring Andres to the C's Danny!!!!!!!!!!

if true, I'm all for it (depending on the deal of course)

I'd jump on the deal.  If we're actually going to play Daniels at backup PG (and I'll defer to Danny regarding such evaluations of what Daniels can do, even though I personally don't like it), then we have a gaping hole at the wing.  Noce is a physical 3 who rebounds almost like a 4.  He'd be a terrific backup: better than Gomes, for example, though similar.

I would not be extatic if Noccioni signed or was
tradedc to our team.  Scalabrine and Noccioni are one in the same, and a move to bring him aboard doesn't make the Celtics a better team.

That being said, Tony Allen is very expendable, if he were to be apart of a 'rumored deal' to send off for Noccioni's services - I could see the deal making sense.  Noccioni has a higher basketball IQ than Tony Allen and for that alone I would do the deal.

Nocioni and Scal are one in the same? Uh, no. Not even close.

Nocioni is not worth 28 million over the next 4 years.  He's too small to play the 4 and too slow to play the three.  He doesn't defend particularly well and he's inconsistent offensively.

Now if the Kings want to do Kevin Martin, Nocioni and Rodriguez for Ray Allen and a youngster, that's fine with me, although I'd only put up with the overpaid, overhyped Nocioni in order to get the Reggie Lewis-like Martin.

Brickowski, I'm gonna ask you for the second time why Sergio's better than Nocioni, or why Kevin Martin is better. All I've seen you do is denounce Nocioni.

Nocioni>>>>>Posey And if you disagree you don't know basketball. Posey is the more accomplished player with his 2 rings. But Andres is the better player (stats don't lie)

To supplement this, the stats say Sergio only averages less than a point a game. Wait wait, don't tell me. Rodriguez's strength is defense, right? Seriously, Brick, I want to know....
