I seriously hope you're being sarcastic. I can understand if you don't like Nocioni (why I dunno, can you elaborate on slow?) but it's quite clear there's a bandwagon for Nocioni on CelticsBlog while I haven't even heard of Sergio Rodriguez. I'll be honest, I don't know anything about either player, apart from the fact the article supposedly says Nocioni can play both the 3 and 4, so he SOUNDS like that backup 3 we could use against the better 3's in the league. So, do you mind telling us why you think Sergio would be better?

Just to be clear, the Chad Ford quote is from February 19, at last year's trade deadline. 

That makes more sense. After committing the cash to Sheed, and the roster spot to Daniels.... I can't see Boston taking in Nocioni and his remaining $21/3 salary, to only play 10-15 minutes per night.

I've seen Nocioni play many times when he played in Spain and also multiple times while he was in Chicago and man, he is really, really good. He would be another fierce competitor and defensive force to add to the team. He is experienced, has won everything with the Argentinian squad and he is also a vocal leader.

I'd jump on the deal.  If we're actually going to play Daniels at backup PG (and I'll defer to Danny regarding such evaluations of what Daniels can do, even though I personally don't like it), then we have a gaping hole at the wing.  Noce is a physical 3 who rebounds almost like a 4.  He'd be a terrific backup: better than Gomes, for example, though similar.

That being said, Tony Allen is very expendable, if he were to be apart of a 'rumored deal' to send off for Noccioni's services - I could see the deal making sense.  Noccioni has a higher basketball IQ than Tony Allen and for that alone I would do the deal.

Now if the Kings want to do Kevin Martin, Nocioni and Rodriguez for Ray Allen and a youngster, that's fine with me, although I'd only put up with the overpaid, overhyped Nocioni in order to get the Reggie Lewis-like Martin.
