I think he'll be a good fit here. Theres no pressure for him to perform. He'll the the 5th big man on the depth chart. He is agressive, he rebounds well, and he can catch and finish. He'll get a lot of open dunks on this team.

I would have preferred to have seen Leon Powe return ... but with that not happening, Shelden Williams is a good choice to round out the big man rotation.

I like the Celtics six big men -- KG, Perk, Sheed, BBD, Scal and Shelden -- I think that group provides great depth and versatility. One of best (the best?) big men rotations in the NBA.

Another lottery pick picked up for free, like Patrick O'Bryant... Never mind. I mean decent pick up. Can't hurt.

yeah, the POB signing worked out real well. this one will be similar. maybe worse.

I don't think that's possible, this kid appears to hustle and give a [dang], two things POB lacked.

Marc Spears Twitter: "The Cs are still struggling to work a sign and trade for Daniels, but either way he's coming, source said. Rookie Hudson's status in air."

Or if its just another flier. I'd rather have Rod Benson.
+1 for the Rod Benson comment!

As a 5th big (behind BBD), Shelden's not bad.

Williams isn't quite as good as Powe, but he has a similar career rebound rate:

RH i wonder which team Candice will root for,the cavs or the celtics...with her brother being a cavs now?

Hello, Sheldon.

And (I really didn't want to say this, but) Goodbye, Leon. Good luck and Godspeed.

I remember in our old celebrity look-a-like thread someone posted this and I thought it was hilarious, and now seems like the perfect time to steal it.

Mark my words the Landlord will be a great 4th or 5th big off the bench and have a few games where he plays very well getting double doubles.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

That's not a forehead that's a fivehead!

I'm sure he'll do great in his 4-5minutes a game.

  • Rondo = Good
As a plus, Shelden has actually had better PER numbers in every season he's played than Glen Davis.

Shelden seems like a good pickup to fill Powe's shoes.  This also makes Scal even more expendable.

We definitely need to resign Davis though.

I like this signing. For a veteran min big Williams is better than I expected. He rebounds well, the most important attribute of a bench big.

He's also young, so if he shows promise and improvement this year, we could resign him.  He could be a bench player for the future, too.

well a few things. we can see the team coming into focus now...i think that this guy is 500 times better than swift and POB. i think he can add some hustle and strength down low

PG Rondo, TBA, hudson
SG Ray, Eddie, Giddens, tony
SF PP, Daniels, walker
PF KG, baby, scal
C Perk, sheed, sheldon

i think that IF they sign bowen then walker and tony are gonzo
