this is awful. anytime you sign a duke player, it is a terrible thing. like most duke players, he cannot play out of the little coach K cocoon and has been a colossal bust in the pros. we say no to leon powe and bring in this lazy clown? what a joke. this is a terrible signing.

Can we just re-sign Leon Powe instead?

not unless his knee has magically repaired itself. thats why this deal is 1 year. They just need a 4th big man, and this one is healthy and decent enough to do it.

Another lottery pick picked up for free, like Patrick O'Bryant... Never mind. I mean decent pick up. Can't hurt.

I'm aware of the extent of his injury, only wishful thinking on my part for him to come back to BOS.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

at least this kid rebounds, ill give him that.

Seems to have a motor too, from reports.

as far as project big man go, ill take "tries hard, but may not be super talented" guy over the "super talented, but no heart" project we tried last year  :-\

Decent size for a power forward, rebounds well, hopefully Clifford Ray works some magic in him. Looks like Scal will be dealt.

when ever a team finally caves and accepts tony allen in a S & T or on the last day we can sign FA's.

no reason to rush, both the player and management have confirmed he's comign here, they would just prefer it to be a sign and trade.

I’ve never seen Williams play but I knew his name. If he is a real and reliable replacement for Leon, and not just a “project” that Danny wanted to acquire, I’m fine with him, and I’m glad anyway that Ainge added depth to our big men rotation. Now sign Big Baby and we will be set for our big men!

Came out of no-where, but not a bad vet minimum pickup.  I think he is a good example of a guy who could really benefit from working with Clifford Ray, the same way Perk and Powe did.  His footwork, has really held him back from being a productive NBA player, but his aggressiveness and decent size (for PF) leave him with some potential.

Exactly my thought.  Clifford Ray can bring out the best in him.  He had some  skills in college.  This is little risk with a high upside.
