PG: Mario Chalmers (32-36 MPG)/ Earl Watson (10-12 MPG)/ Bassy (DNP-2 MPG)
SG: Eric Gordon (36-38 MPG)/ Martell webster (8-10 MPH)
SF: Trevor Ariza (34-36 MPG)/ Martell Webster (6-10 MPG)
PF: Beasley (32-34 MPG)/ sideshow bob (4-8 MPG)/ JJ Hickson (rest MPG)
C: Gortat (26-32 MPG)/ sideshow (10-20 MPG)

I think a core of Gordon, Ariza and Beasley should serve you well going forward. And I, myself, am particularly high on Gordon after watching the rookie rise above it all during a generally torturous Clippers campaign.

Clearly both the actual Mavericks and Magic agree with your assessment of Gortat, so I'm willing to go along. In any case Varejao could start in his stead.

I think the squad most has room to improve at the point? You may have been better served taking a flier on a starter from the '09 crop of guards, rather than Chalmers. If only to take one more swing for the fences. That said the kid has a winning pedigree, is playoff tested, and shows great shot selection. But I'd also prefer more separation at the position, as I could see Telfair or Watson starting just as easily. (And Watson has had trouble in the past accepting a limited role.)

I see Ariza becoming de facto team leader. But I wonder if you agree? Team captains?

I think Odom's natural position is the 3 too but I got killed for having him there. Maybe put AK at the 3 and Lamar at the 4?

Pretty good squad. I think Odom will help you. A good center away from being a contender imo.

Boston Celtics

Starters:

PG - Rafer Alston (30 MPG)
SG - Dwayne Wade (34 MPG)
SF - Tayshaun Prince (30 MPG)
PF - Antonio McDyess (25 MPG)
C - Nenê (32 MPG)

6th Man:

PG/SG - Leandro Barbosa (24 MPG)

Role Players:
PF/C - Chris Andersen (20 MPG)
SF - Rasual Butler (20 MPG)

Bench Player:
SF - Jarvis Hayes (10 MPG)
PF - Jared Jeffries (10 MPG)
SF - Matt Harpring (5 MPG)

I think this drastically hurts your team.  Not having Odom to play PF off the bench really hurts.  Still dont have a passing pg to distribute the ball.  Though Tayshaun is a nice defensive piece to add.

I think if you could move Maggette for a shooter you might be a contender. I think Nash can still get it done. I'm assuming Deng will be back this year too.

5- Mehmet Okur/DeSagna Diop/Kosta Koufos
4- Carlos Boozer/Danil Gallinari
3- Luol Deng/Jason Kapono/DeMar DeRozan
2- Corey Maggette/Tyreke Evans/Ime Udoka
1- Steve Nash/Eddie House

Definitly a solid team, you gotta like Nash running the show.  Super athletic swing men in Magette and Deng.  Nothing bad you can say about your front court, you got an inside presence in boozer and outside presence in Okur.  I dont know how Gallinari would do at that 4 I assume thats when your going small to run the ball?  I do like the mix of young players and the vets though.  I think you have a good team this year while having a solid group of young players coming through at the same time.

Let me ask you something:

What's the difference between Portland giving nine guys 25 - 30 minutes, and you giving six guys 25 - 30 minutes, one guy 34 minutes, another guy 32, and then three other guys 25 minutes total?

It seems like almost the exact same thing you were criticizing us for, other than you have Wade playing 34 minutes rather than us having Rashard play 30.

I don't think it's a problem on your team, and I don't think it is on ours, either.

All right I've picked all my players time to talk about my team
1. Steve Nash/Eddie House/Jamaal Tinsley
2. Corey Maggette/Tyreke Evans/Ime Udoka
3. Luol Deng/Jason Kapono/DeMar Derozan
4. Carlos Boozer/Danilo Gallanari/Chuck Hayes
5. Memhet Okur/DeSagna Diop/Sean Williams

1. At the 1 I have a 2 time MVP who's a great shooter. Eddie will play some spot 1, but will also play some 2 with Evans at the one, Evans is tall enough to guard 2's but play the point. Tinsley if he has his head on straight is a great back up, I picked him so late that if he doesn't fit I will just cut him.

2. Corey Maggette is a big two that can capably guard other twos with his size or speed. Udoka can be brought in for defensive purposes to bother the better 2s in the league. Evans will get time at both guard spots but if he doesn't play well we have the veterans so that he isn't needed at either position.

3. Luol Deng is a long athletic player who can shut down the best threes and score very well. Kapono is one of my deadly three point shooters that I can bring off the bench, along with House and Galanari. DeRozan is a top 10 pick who will start the season as the 3rd string 3 so anything we get from him is a bonus

4. Carlos Boozer is one of the better pick and roll players in the league which is why him and Nash are a match made in heaven. Gallanari is three point shooting four who is perfect for the uptempo setting that GS runs. Chuck Hayes gives us a more traditional tough back up 4, that will play defense and rebound.

5. Memhet Okur is the perfect center to draw out Dwight Howard so that he has to play on the wing and can't block shots. He spreads the floor when we run the pick and roll and will get out and hit 3's when Nash runs. Diop is a tough defensive minded center who can clog space in the middle. Williams is an athletic shot blocker that is perfect for the Golden State system.

Our scheme with the first unit will be a slower version of the current Golden State team. Due to our ability to play in the half court and defend we feel that we will be better served in the playoffs playing this style.
The second unit however will really pick up the pace. Gallanari, Kapono and House are all deadly three point shooters, Evans will be adequate in this department. Evans best ability is his skill at driving with great shooters like these defenders will have trouble helping and he will have a field day.
My team has veterans at every position as well as great young players at every position (3 of which were top ten picks in the past two years).
Can I get more opinions on my team, thank you to scribbles for responding earlier.

I like your team a lot.  Definitely a playoff team.  My concerns are with the bench; if Evans and Gallinari play well, I think you could be a contender.

I really don't like the front court. I think Rip will thrive with DRose though.
