The Celticsblog Draft has recently become a kinder, gentler place, apparently.  Where's the bickering debate? ;)

You're just baiting us into posting the KG picture, aren't you?  Not going to happen. ;)

KG only got injured so that he could get back into "The world is against me," mentality with a chip on his shoulder.  And bone spurs are a bit different than an ACL tear.  Im no doctor, but I think they are a bit less career threatening

He had a tweaked tendon, as well.  I'm not going to rehash some of the speculation about KG (from doctors, experts, and analysts), though; it's too depressing.  I'm just assuming he'll be 100% next season.

USA!  USA!  USA!

It's funny that a team with Big Z, Camby, KG, and Ron Artest is pointing out injuries.  All of those guys missed a significant chunk of last season.  While health isn't a strong point for Portland, it's not one for Toronto, either.

Ya but you gotta admit that last one was pretty funny with the writing on it and everything...

(Por/Tor) Toronto - because in a weaker conference they win more games and get HCA.

Interesting.  I'm not sure I see it that way.

First, Portland finished with the second best record in the West, Toronto with the third best in the East.  Also, Toronto played in the deepest division in the Fake NBA, with four teams making the playoffs.  Having to play 16 games against Philly, Boston, New Jersey, and New York would have been a struggle.  (Also, of course, if you want to look at the voting, Portland had more first place votes in its conference than Toronto.)

So, I think it's very likely that Portland would have home court advantage over Toronto, based upon the voting.

I'm not going off the voting results. I'm going off my vote. In my vote, I had Toronto #1 in the East dominating the conference. In my vote, I had Portland second in a much closer race. In my vote, Toronto had the HCA and the two teams are so close that I feel the HCA would make the difference.

Sorry Roy. Sorry Edgar. You guys had a great team but in my mind, they would have been the less dominant regular season team, especially given the fact I think Portland would have needed to nurse some of the walking wounded that they had over the last year to 18 months in order for everyone to stay fresh over the course of the year.

It's an interesting way to look at it, nick.  I figured the regular season records were determined by the voting.  I mean, I couldn't have said "I know the voters determined that the first round matchup is Dallas and Houston, but I think Dallas should really be playing Memphis, so Dallas wins".

However, if you saw Toronto and Portland as that close to one another, I think some subjectivity has to come into it, and if Toronto gets your vote, I'm sure everyone understands that.

Actually to correct you, the regular season seedings were determined by vote, not record.

In 2008, 2 Eastern teams had better records than anyone in the West.In 2007, 3 Western team had better records than any team in the East. In 2003, 4 Western conference teams had better records than any team in the East. It's a common occurrence.

So it's still very subjective whether I go off of my own vote or whether I go of the way you want me to perceive things, Roy. Either way, I see the top 2-3 team in the East having better records than the teams in the West because 1-15 the East was weaker and those higher Eastern teams would have racked up a ton of wins against the east's weaker teams whereas Buffalo and Portland would have had a tough time just about every night against teams 1-12 or so the West.
