Yeah if you just got done your shift at the coal mine and need a beer with the boys after work.

Yuengling has pushed its beer so hard where i live that I feel like they're stalking me. The beer is standard American beer...not too strong, no overwhelming taste, and color that decieves you into thinking its a meal and not a snack.

I would recommend Alexander Keith's IPA and Rickard's Red. Both fantastic authentic Canadian (aka superior) beers. That's what I'm bringin to the table.

And Roy if this is going to degrade into a a fantasy draft of the best roster of beers I shotgun Smithwicks

You can have Guiness. Like Tim Duncan, its overrated.

Speaking of coffee...you know Edgar, Christmas is coming up...

Are you getting Edgar some coffee this year?  That's decent of you.  I can't imagine what type of crap they grow up there near the Canadian border, though.

There are some local guys that are buying beans wholesale and roasting them. Tastes like hot garbage.

But you know, Edgar. We do have some good beer up here....
Watch out by up here he means the US and good beer he means Pabst Blue Ribbon. Beware!!!!

By the way, IP:  Nice sig.  I'm just noticing that now.

I'm a man of my word, Roy.

And Genny Cream Ale is nothing to sneeze at. Its nothing to drink either, but surely nothing to sneeze at. Its a waste of a sneeze.
I will not sit idle while you besmirch the name of a great beer. I used to drink Genny light as often as I could get it, it's 12.99 (at most) for a 30 and it gets the job done.

Hey, guys, sorry to distract from the draft with something so mundane, but can you help the staff out with something fairly trivial?

Several of you the GMs in here have signatures that set forth there roster over five or more lines (which makes sense, since there are five starting positions per team).  However, unfortunately that conflicts with our posting rules, which state that signatures:

Quote
Must be kept to a maximum of four lines (at 1024 resolution).

(The same thing goes for signatures that are too big, etc.)

Sorry for the minor inconvenience.  We're trying to clean the board up as we get closer to the season, and things are kind of slow today, so it was a good day to begin.

We've already contacted about 15 or so members about their sigs, but to save us some work, please help out.  Thanks.

-Roy

I added these stats up last night, so they've changed a little.  A look at this year’s draft:

"Team of the Future" vote is now up.

This is the last planned poll of the '09 CB Draft.

I challenge all the "teams of the future" to beat a core of

Rondo, Jefferson, Biedrins

Followed by a cadre of

Nate Robinson, Koufos, McRoberts, Smith, Ilyasova

Between upcoming drafts we can sort out the wings, but this is a playoff (championship, stupid Tim Duncan!) team now and a title team tomorrow.

Good luck and godspeed.

EDIT: Josh Howard and Roger Mason Jr aren't even 30 yet either. They still have 4-5 good prime to just below prime years in their future. The suns never sets in Phoenixes!!!

Orlando may have you beat in the long run.  Lebron trumps just about everybody, and he's got a young core around him.  The team isn't as deep as yours by any stretch, but Lebron / Charlie V / Gasol isn't a bad foundation.  Still, it's hard to not like your team, as well.  That particular vote would have gone down to the wire.

In terms of the voting, I went with Denver.  I still think Greg Oden is going to be an all-star in the middle.

One thing is for certain:  Toronto and Portland will *not* be competing for team of the future. ;)

I haven't voted yet but I too would have gone Suns if the voting wasn't restricted to the non-playoff teams.
