Don's was pretty straight forward that your roster must be paired to 15 by 11:59:59. You waited to the last second to cut your players, but forgot Foyle, the guy you jock blocked and ruled I couldn't sign and then signed him yourself. Of course I'd be aware that you didn't waive him. I wonder how Don's will rule on this.

Sadly, johnny, I posted our final roster, as required.

Portland (non-international roster): Shaquille O'Neal, Jermaine O'Neal, Rashard Lewis, Michael Redd, Mike Bibby, Manu Ginobili, Brad Miller, Delonte West, Ryan Gomes, Ronny Turiaf, Jrue Holiday, Quinton Ross, Jared Dudley, Fred Jones, Taj Gibson

But please, continue to troll my posts.

When Roy does something wrong, there is no accountability. Or should this be in the Chuck Norris thread? You waited until the last second to cut your players and messed up. Not a huge deal, but it is what it is. When you started trying to somehow bend the rules to have a 19 man roster with your European players, you opened yourself up to it. No one trolls posts like you do.

Actually Roy I was watching the waiver wire until the very, very end knowing you were jock blocking and I had a second tab open with a post ready to submit saying I would sign a player hoping to get one of your players in just before the deadline.

As a matter of fact, I got Alexis Ajinca off the waiver wire two seconds before the deadline. If you had legally waived Adonal Foyle like you should have I would have picked him up instead of Ajinca and enhanced my bench further.

You, in fact, did not legally release him in time and therefore, head 16 men on your active roster and you did break the rules. I hope this is addressed by the commissioner.

Uh huh.  Since I posted our final roster in the rosters thread before the midnight deadline, I'm not sure what the issue is, nick.

As Dons stated:

Quote
Deadline for roster cutdowns, signings, and trades is Tuesday (Aug. 4) 11:59pm.  Rosters must be cut down to 15 players at that time

Our roster was cut down, as it was posted and finalized.  But by all means, take it up with Dons, nick.

The issue is if you had legally released him in the draft thread then someone would have had a chance to pick him up

I legally picked up a player you did in fact legally release and had enough time to do so and get the post in on time.

By not legally releasing Foyle in the draft thread you kept him away from other teams and therefore he was still legally on your team.

I could not have claimed Ajinca if you did not legally release him because he was on your roster. By not putting Foyle on the legally released draft thread you did in fact break the rules and kept him on your roster because you did not make him available to other teams.

I could further theorize that that move cost the Washington Boxers a playoff spot because maybe someone out there sees Foyle as being that much of an upgrade over Ajinca that they gave me one extra seeding upward, thereby, not necessitating a vote off.

Well, nick, I'm sorry that my legally announcing our roster, and inadvertently forgetting to announce that Foyle was waived (but leaving him off our 15 man active roster, which was posted before the deadline), cost you a playoff spot.  My condolences.

EDIT:  Adonal Foyle's 2008-09 stats:  10 games played, 1.7 points, 2.6 rebounds.  Definitely a difference maker.

I'm sure if you just admit your mistake and let Dons know it was just an oversight that there won't be a problem. What's he going to do, throw you out of the playoffs?

Here's what we said:

Foyle was an oversight; he's obviously cut, too, since he didn't make the roster.

We posted our final roster prior to the deadline, which is what was required; if that was a mistake, we freely admit to it.  I find it amusing that JR is trying to make hay out of that.

many teams posted their updated rosters prior to the deadline, but then edited them as they made deadline moves. I picked up Foyle. You ruled I could not. You picked him up and then never waived him, so I (or Nick or another team) could claim him. You say it was an oversight, which I'll buy. I'm not as quick to label people dishonest as some. You made a mistake. Everyone makes them from time to time.

johnnyrondo, the voice of moral authority.

If you remember, wdleehi cleared out the roster thread on deadline day, for the express purpose of teams posting their finalized rosters.  To imply that you're not trying to start trouble here, JR, is laughable.
