I don't think this changes anything about not making the QO to Leon. If anything it makes it less questionable as our front court just got a lot better.
I agree the front court is greatly improved tonight.
But, at minimum Davis's departure frees up another roster spot, and increases the odds that Ainge wastes Powe's money on a Robert Swift or Michael Sweetney type.
Or on Powe himself.
even with an extra roster spot freed up if we don't re-sign Baby, you still think a minimum contract to Leon is a waste of money?
I've never been worried about the money aspect. It has been about having the roster spot available for Danny to explore better and healthy alternatives... that he likes of course.
I want to keep Powe, but until the above happens, he simply can't be taking up a roster space.
So if Baby is not here, it increases the chances of a spot for him being available.
For example, if the NBA allowed to have more than 15 roster spots, I'm absolutely certain that Powe would've been offered a contract already.
