Even 3.5 mil is too much for a 4th big man. We're talking about someone that will get about 5 minutes in the playoffs, and that's if there is foul trouble.

You're fine if Scal is in your rotation in the playoffs.

BBD replacement to be had in a sign and trade. I think we should trade BBD for a young PF or combo forward like Warrick and PG. We throw in TA, Scal or Pruitt as filler.

This is probably the saddest day of my fan-life since the Lakers won their third title in a row in 2002.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I'm convinced that Tanguay doesn't understand what a restricted free-agent means.

I agree he just says stuff without thinking or he has no clue.

That's not where the value lies. The value lies in having a deep bench and a quality contract that can be used as a trade asset. Even a full MLE deal would be awesome... great contract to use to add talent. Assuming it's a 1 year deal.

I don't think it's a big deal if we lose Baby.

I like him a lot and he could be a solid guy for the future, but he won't be getting the kind of minutes he'll probably want this upcoming season if Sheed signs here.

Thanks for the memories Baby.  Reality is we don't have that much money to give to a guy that would've been 4th on our big man depth chart.  He's a serviceable player but I'm glad DA didn't overreact to the playoff run that Baby had, I think he was playing over his head there.

Thats what I first thought. If we sign Sheed, BBD minutes almost diminishes. Sheed plays both positions and probably will get 80-90% of those minutes. I do believe BBD will be gone, but since we hold his rights I hope we get something nice in return.

  • Thanks Red
if Baby goes to the Spurs, I wonder whether that huge game clinching shot he had against the Spurs made any difference in their interest lol

respectfully I disagree. BBD showed the world he is a legit player. Sure he is now our 4th big, but what if KG's knee flares up? Perks shoulder goes out? Our new 35 yr old PF/C has an injury?

Plus, BBD is a longterm player, not a short term aging vet like sheed and even KG. BBD will play 10 more years in the league. The C's need some youth. I hope we re-sign him, or at least S&T so we get back some youth in return.
