Houston's the only team that will give Artest more than the MLE. Maybe Portland, if they lose out on Turkoglu. Everybody else will stick with MLE offers.
Go Celtics.

If the Cavs sign Artest they're going to be TOUGH. Everyone plays the Cavs and only has to worry about Lebron. Now you'd have to worry about Shaq and Artest too.

be incredibly reliieved if artest remains in Houston. Not because I didn't want him on the c's but because of the off chance artest ends up in . That just seems like such a great fit for me.

I don't know...

I mean, yes,  would be adding his amazing talents.  But that would mean he would be  to  at the 2 all year.  He can do that for  obviously, but he's really a 3 and Cleveland already has that position sufficiently filled.

There was an article yesterday out that Cleveland wanted to move Lebron to the 4 for some reason, so they were looking for a big 3.

Really?!?!  I can't imagine how that would be an advantage for them.  Can you imagine Lebron guarding KG, , Nowitzki, etc.?
LeBron can play any basketball position. He's just so athletically talented plus his size and strength. But imagine KG, Duncan, or Dirk trying to guard him? He'd go for sicker numbers.

I'd give him the MLE over 5 years and a player opt out after 3. He'd be sick to have banging at the 2, 3, 4 off the bench. Heck he's good enough to possibly push Ray to the bench, sliding Pierce to the 2.

Artest is a head case, but in a good competative way. He's a guy you want to battle alongside, not against.

From there I would take a scrub to play the backup 5. Artest is that good.

What he said.
And we almost beat the Magic with only Perk, Baby, and Scal up front, so IMO backup center is not critical.

I´ve been thinking about this a lot.  I love Artest and he would be my number one target if I had a say in things...but signing him would make it very difficult to fill in the rest of our holes.
