Yeah Jsaad, by gone I meant traded. I just don't think he helps, so I wasn't including him on the roster.

If you wanted to start Pierce and Artest together, that would produce match-up nightmares for other teams. Artest could also guard the quicker 2's, but the other team would have to put their bigger 3 on Artest opening the door for Pierce to go back to posting up smaller 2's, which was very effective. This gives us another post player in essence on offense. KG would work wonderful with this with his range.

Ray would be the most lethal 6th man in the league.  Not saying I'd go with this line-up, but it does have potential.

I believe Artest would help more than Sheed. He's younger, still has his legs, wants a championship and is a better player imo.  I'm not as enamored with the need for a great backup 4.  Compared to our championship team, I think Artest is more of a banger than Posey and BBD now is a better backup big than PJ. Also with our expiring contracts or LLE we could find another big (Example Oberto)

I like it, but I'm not sure Paul Pierce would. Those two used to go at it when Artest was in Indiana. You may recall Artest deliberately yanking Paul's shorts down when the refs weren't looking.

Ooh i think Paul would sign up in a heartbeat. Most stars would be probably love to have their defensive oriented counterparts on their team, to be unleashed on the other teams' scorers.

One of the big things we lost with Posey was that scrappy in your face toughness, never backing down, willing to hand out cheap shots. Most title teams have a guy like that. Perkins comes the closest (he just doesn't go full on scrappy cheap shot, possible intentional flagrant).

Imagine if we somehow signed Sheed AND Artest?

We'd have a new Big 3 -

Quick someone Tweet Tanguay to text KG to go after Artest ;)

As I said in one of the other threads, if I were Danny I would throw everything I got into getting Artest on this team.

Chad Ford a Cav's fan much? Seems like all of his "insider" info has to do with the "cavs being the only option"....

I doubt Artest comes to the C's. I remember during last years finals, Peter Vecsey wrote a story about sitting next to Ron Artest during Game 4. Vecsey wrote that Ron Artest was talking about how KG likes to Scream and act tough when His Team is ahead, but when His Team is down KG stays quite. Ron of course made these remarks during the First Half when the Lakers had the huge lead before the Historic comeback. I've always liked Artest, but after He made those comments I said "to Heck With Him". It seems like a lot of Players around the league Hate the Celtics.

Artest would lengthen our championship window imo.

Sacrifices I'd make to bring Artest here:

1) Start him if you need to, with Ray as the lethal weapon 6th man

2) Give him an extra year in contract length

3) Spend less on a backup big

4) Unretire #96 ;)

Well if we give him the years he wants, watch him and KG being buddy buddy next year. Artest and KG are two players opposing players hate to play against, but love to have on their teams.

If we could sign either Artest or Marion for the MLE, and I don't care how many years, we would be the team to beat.  I am assuming we also sign Marbury and BBD plus fill in the rest with minimum/rookies, what ever you want.  I am not all that excited about Rasheed Wallace.  Yeah, he is a nice player, but I think we are fine at 4 (assuming BBD comes back) and fine enough at 5 with BBD and some scrap heap 7 footer (KG or BBD can log minutes at 5).

I dont think we could pull off sheed and artest however i would make a strong strong push for artest. He is perfect for what we would need off the bench. He has really stepped up his game mentally in Houston. Would be an incredible signing.
