No one embodies Celtic Pride like Antoine Walker.

We all have a love-hate relationship with Toine, most more leaning to the "hate" side of the spectrum...

Would you consider bringing Toine back in a limited role for next season?  Why, or why not?
God bless and good night!

I am shocked -- shocked! -- that somebody would start a thread pondering whether we should bring Antoine back.

For now, he's under contract with the Twolves, and has a very valuable expiring contract for them.  I doubt he goes anywhere.

Heh, if I didn't do it, you know someone else would have :)

It wouldn't be unreasonable for him to get traded at the deadline (or even beforehand) for cap manipulation purposes, and waived by his destination team.  After that, if I'm not mistaken, he could immediately sign with any other team after clearing wavers (the Gary Payton rule doesn't apply unless he were to re-sign with the Wolves).

Would you consider him for say, the veteran's minimum prorated, in that type of situation?
God bless and good night!

I say yes to a 1 day contract to allow Walker to retire as a Celtic.

Anything more, no.

I just logged in. ....and the thread at the top of the latest list is this one.. hahahahahaha!!!!

Nice sentimental thought. I just don't see it happening. He is not what the C's need.

We should also sign Vin Baker to a one day contract, so he can retire as a Celtic too.

If I could swear I might go into a 15 minute f-bomb, curse filled tirade as to why this move shouldn't even be considered but as to why this thread shouldn't be posted today. Imean couldn't the Toine groupies have at least waited until after the parade to bring up this preposterous notion once again.

Hey, we won the NBA Championship!  Talk about bad karma. Can we forget about Antoine already?

I was a huge Toine fan when he was here, and part of me would still like him back.  Still, I don't see how it works.  If anything, with P.J. potentially leaving, the C's need more bangers down low.  They already have undersized big men in Baby and Powe.  The other option, of course, would be to play Toine at the 3 where he could be an interesting scoring option off the bench.  But I don't like that option either, because as last night proves, defense wins championships, and Toine at the 3 is not a good idea defensively.

So while it's a sentimental thought, it has no real world applicability.

yea, lets add a out of shape guy who doesn't play defense or share the ball and hucks up 3's all day for no reason.

or we could just resign sam and feed him a bunch of twinkees.....

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
But, why not??? Toine and Scal would make a formidable tandem being on the court at the same time. We would only need Blount, MacFarty and Cassell to round up a pretty good second team. Just imagine it!
