If he takes less money and commits to defense I'd take him behind Pierce (and Posey) at the 3 with the possibility of some time at the 4.

Please tell me this is a joke ... who the heck would ever consider a guy who has been so completely useless and totally out of shape? I honestly can't believe, after the amazing amount of "Bring Back 'Toine" threads, and the subsequent overwhelming negative responses, that this question would be revived once again. Antoine is so far over-the-hill that he's in another country, and he would be not only a waste of money and time, but a truly poor fit for this team in every respect. Please, please, please ... no more 'Toine threads!!  :P

I don't want Antoine back, but considering that he'll get a buyout, he should be affordable at the vet min, or somewhere around that. I still think we have plenty of roster spaces to fillup, and I think he can be somewhat useful off the bench.

I don't know, but we could really punish people by going really big with 'Toine at the SF. I think it's worth the risk, given how little he'd cost us. He was coming off the bench for Miami, and ate the bench in Minnesota, so he should be a very good teammate and willing to compromise. He shouldn't have too much problems playing spot minutes.

And with that said, even though I've never liked him shooting 3's, with this team, I think it would be welcomed.

Then you consider KG's interior passing... someone like Walker could benefit a lot from it.

FTR, I sat 12 feet from him at the game and he was in good to very good shape. I thought the rap on him was that he has his ring now and doesn't feel the need to buy inot anybody elses thing.

I think he's a perfect compliment to Kg. People forget how good of a passer Antoine is, he also can finish well inside. If we can sign him to vet min and put a provision in his contract that states he will be immediately cut if he takes more than 20 threes on the season then it'd be a great pickup. Antoine is extremely competitive and desperately wants to win in Boston he'd be perfect for this team
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Which thread is worse?

This one asking to bring back Antoine? (Who Danny flat out  can not stand)

or

The one looking to trade Allen that was front and center the day of the parade?

I love my kids, call me a sap - it's true.

I found this gem-of-a-post with the following pics below on one of the T-Wolves websites...It's a HOOT!  ;D

http://www.twolvesblog.com/forum/minnesota-timberwolves-den/15375-why-we-need-the-tonie.html

Yes, I know there are no Fours....STOP ASKING ME!!!

YOU DARE TO INSULT THE POWER OF THE SHIMMY?  I MUST BREAK YOU....FOR I AM THE BLACK IVAN DRAGO!

Still one of my favorite pics. lol.

Hmmm....that new shaving cream worked like a charm.  Very Smooth....

[dang it], Stephen!  Out of my way...Your breath smells like the weed Ricky Davis smokes. BLECH!!

Sam Cassell : "Hee, Hee....I'm going to Boston to sit on my azz, do nothing, and get another ring.  How about you?"

Antoine Walker : "Hee, Hee....I'm trying to decide whether that thing growing out of your neck is your head....or somebody's fugly penis."

Ron Artest : *sniffs* "What's that funky smell?"

Antoine Walker : *thinking* ("that's the last time I let Coach pick the place to eat!")

"We lost again? This blows.  Maybe I'll do a shimmy.....nah.  I'd better not.  We haven't exactly won a game.  Besides, I wouldn't want to wrinkle my suit....and if someone asks me why I wear pink shirts again, I'll kick his ass."

I'm afraid to think that these Antoine threads will continue for the next 8-10 years. The dude's only 31 years old. Yeah, he's out of shape and his career is tanking, but power forwards can play in this league up until 40-ish. Are we to believe that, in 2017, we'll be reading 'bring Toine out of retirement' threads?

I think we should implement some sort of account suspension punishment for anyone who suggests such a ridiculous thought.

Is there any downside into bringing him if he gets bought out and we can get him for cheap?

More importantly, is there any upside into getting him for cheap? I can't think of any benefit he can give to this team.

Yes, that he's probably a better player than most people we could afford. We should have plenty of roster spaces to fill. He can be a legit scorer with our second unit, something we lacked last year... etc, etc. He'll help our team stay big when needed.

He played under Pat Riley... and guess what, we're playing Pat Riley's type of defense.

I was one who voted "No" on the poll by the way, but him getting bought out changes things significantly.

Oh, and he can provide that little thing known as depth.

Whaaaaa? ???

The guy shot <40% the last two years. So unless you want him firing up 10 shots a game, he won't put up many points.

He may have played on a good defensive team recently, but isn't he not as quick as he was a few years and only 6'9"? What's he going to do when his man gets around him to the hoop?

So, yeah, he adds about as much depth as Scal.

I forgot where I mentioned that I thought he'll put up many points. But fact is that we have little resources to get people to play here. At the moment, if we want to keep Posey, we'll be relying mostly on luck that people want to come to play here for nothing... and that's what I think we can get for Walker, almost nothing (somewhere around vet. min.).

Find me someone in that price range that you think we could get and is better than Walker. I doubt you'd find many. And even so, I still think we have plenty of roster spaces. And sure, just as much depth as Scal.  Scal ended up not playing with that team... towards the end, so who cares? That's what depth is for. You use it when needed, and when you don't you throw it aside.
