If I had to make a prediction, Brad will trade Tillman + future 2nds for Theis or Javonte Green. I'd lean more towards the latter (Green)

My dream target is Kessler. Maybe Ainge does us a favor

Out of my purely irrational fanhood of the guy, give me Vanilla Theis back.

Theis was just traded to OKC.

Oh wow TP. I missed this.

Good luck to Theis. If we play OKC in the Finals obviously I'll root against him but otherwise I hope he does awesome there and wins a ring (if not us)

Weird trade.  The Pels have to give draft compensation?  There was no market beyond that?

Reportedly the draft picks is the LEAST favorable of Pelicans/Magic 2nd rounders in 2031 which is a pretty low price. A little surprising somebody wouldn't just take him for free, but they didn't give up much.

Don?t be surprise if Horford, Porzingus or Holliday is traded

I would be very surprised.  Shocked.

We could see a big trade in the summer, but I don't think it will happy at the deadline.

I expect Holiday to get moved over the Summer.  One of our big salaried players will need to go. Pending Baylor's development this summer I expect Sam to be on the block as well.

Jonas V. to the Kings

Quote
The Washington Wizards have agreed to trade veteran center Jonas Valančiūnas to the Sacramento Kings for Sidy Cissoko and two second-round picks, The Stein Line and ESPN report.

Valančiūnas signed a three-year, $30.3 million contract with the Wizards in July.

Sidy Cissoko makes $1.8M.  SAC must have had cap space or and exemption or something (I think they had a TPE).  Nice trade for them.

Probably using the 16 million dollar trade exception they got in the Fox deal.

Kings get...
- Bulls guard Zach LaVine
- Spurs guard Sidy Cissoko
- 2025 first-round pick (Hornets)
- 2027 first-round pick (Spurs)
- 2031 first-round pick (Timberwolves)
- 2025 second-round pick (Bulls)
- 2028 second-round pick (Nuggets)
- 2028 second-round pick (their own back from Bulls)

So net here for the Kings for Fox, Jordan McLaughlin, and Kevin Huerter, they get back:

Zach Levine
Jonas Valančiūnas
3-Firsts (expected to be decent picks)
1-Second (net after Wiz Trade)

They did better than DAL did for Luka.

I was just thinking maybe Holliday for Middleton? Because of contract length difference, the Celtics would have to add pick{s}. Washington certainly can't be interested in keeping Middleton.

The backup center spot has been a bit thin for the Kings all season. Valanciunas is locked up for 2.5 seasons on an affordable contract and he figures to age with relative grace. His skill level and sheer physicality won't deteriorate much over time.

This is especially sweet because it has to sting for the Los Angeles Lakers, a division rival with precious few frontcourt options after trading Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic.

Valanciunas isn't the best fit for what ails LA, but he's a functional big man, which can't be said for anybody else on the Lakers roster. We know Los Angeles checked in on Valanciunas throughout the season, so this bargain qualifies as a double victory for Sacramento.

Good point regarding the Lakers.  No way they could match this deal, they would have had to send salary to WAS, but much rather see him go to SAC than LAL.

I feel like the Kings are looking around the NBA and asking "What players can we get that will give the most median team possible? What players have led other teams to be mediocre? How can we raise the floor as high as possible without the ceiling getting too high?"

Who is next? Bradley Beal? Pascal Siakim? Julius Randle? CJ McCullom?

Is Theis any good anymore?

It feels like he did nothing to help the Pelicans. That his life as a useful NBA player is over.
