I have no idea what the Bucks are thinking trading Middleton in a deal for Kuzma. Why??

(It hasn't happened yet but apparently according to reports it's "getting close")

Because ?Kuzma is as good as JT?? 😅

Kuzma lol....if the Bucks are counting on him to make a difference, just ride out the rest of the season with Middleton

Is Kuzma really any better than Middleton at this point? I know Middleton has fallen off, but that doesn't really seem like some major upgrade, at least not one that will vault them into contention in the East.

C: B Lopez
F: Giannis, Portis
F: T Prince, Kuzma

That would be a dynamic frontline in terms of matchup options / style of play. Big bully ball. Multiple small ball lineups that can run.

Their SG position is still a major problem though.

League sources say the Dallas Mavericks, fresh off their Luka Dončić-for-Anthony Davis swap that sent shockwaves through the Association, have dreams of adding Durant to their Davis-Kyrie Irving-led group.

While the likelihood of Dallas pulling this off now appears unlikely, the mere idea of Durant joining Dallas? star-studded group sheds new light on the thinking of Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison after he was roundly ridiculed for the Dončić deal.

But why would Durant play with Kyrie again lol I thought he wanted to get away from him back in Brooklyn lol

Kuzma to the Bucks for Middleton.

Wow. Did Middleton dirty and Kuzma is the def. of mid.

Have to think Middleton is getting bought out in Washington? I know he has a hefty bit left on his contract.

Trading Middleton is one thing. He just isn't the same and isn't that great anymore.

But for Kuzma? Kuzma did nothing at all to help WAS over the years and his best basketball is as a scoring PF. Doesn't MIL already basically have that? Plus him and Giannis and Lillard sharing the basketball? Good luck.

League sources: the Philadelphia 76ers are trading KJ Martin and two second round picks to the Detroit Pistons. The Sixers will shed salary in the move

It took the Sixers 2 2nd round picks to dump Martin's contract of 8 mill.

I figure it would take Boston 1 2nd pick to help dump Springer's $4 mill contract.

Martin is probably an upgrade over Grimes, a little more size and muscle, but I don't see this moving the needle much.

DAL does have some decent depth which is great, but doesn't win you a title unless you have the top end talent, the big 3.  For DAL right now, that top end is Davis, Irving, and Thompson.  I am not sure that is enough, even if Davis can stay healthy.

It feels like they need one more offensive star. They do have the contracts to find that guy, they could package Thompson+Washington+Gafford together and get up to a star level salary while still having the supporting players like Marshall, Martin, Lively, Christie to put around a "big three."

I think the obvious target may be Jimmy butler. The Heat want to remain competitive and getting three solid veterans in return for Butler would do that. Jimmy is from the Texas, and with a 32 years old Irving and 31 year old Davis feels like they are in win now mode.

It's so stupid, but my first thought was "Good, I don't want to have to face Martin in the playoffs."

Celtics PTSD

TP. I had the same thought.

That's another Celtics PTSD player that I'm happy is off a contender.

Not afraid of Kuzma at all.

I figure it would take Boston 1 2nd pick to help dump Springer's $4 mill contract.

We should note that the Sixers sent two very distant 2nd rounders (2027 and 2031), which as a package should be worth less than our 2nd-rounder this year, which is currently pick #31.

I dont mind moving a second to move Springer, but I would very much object to it being our 2nd this year.  That is a good pick in what looks like a great draft.

EDIT: And then minutes later Brad agreed with us and moved Springer and a 2030 pick.
