Meh, this is dumb as in I couldn't care less about him taking Tramadol and in this case I'm buying the excuse of it being a mistake, even that he wasn't in the wrong in the case. Regardless, couldn't care less.

The Lakers need to permanently bench Dalton Knecht.

They cannot afford to carry another lousy defender. They already have Luka, LeBron and A Reaves. It is too much. Knecht is going to kill that team. They were a -16 in his 13 minutes last night. They probably would have won if he wasn't playing.

They cannot afford all those rookie mistakes / bad defense from Knecht on top of all the other defensive issues they already have.

I'm surprised Tramadol is banned.  It's a non narcotic pain killer.  You'd think this would be the type of drug that is approved for pain.

I mean, I wouldn't blame all of that on Knecht.  From my point of view that team has had one defensive philosophy all year long:  "AD save me." Any time I'd watch them, they would have defenders mixed up all over the place, and they were kept afloat by the fact that AD is a viable defensive engine by himself.  Now AD is gone.  Nobody to protect all of these other minus defenders anymore.  Knecht is just one of many problems in that respect.

I don't think that team is a contender this year and I think there's nothing they can do about it now, Knecht or otherwise.  The Luka trade was a no-brainer from a value standpoint and gives them direction post-Lebron, but it left them an unbalanced and incomplete roster in the near-term.

Me as well, I'm sure I don't know some of the performance enhancing effects it may have, but I've always considered Tramadol as a super Tylenol... so was surprised that it was for this that he got banned.

Are you sure it's non-narcotic?  I thought it was an opioid and was addictive.

If taken orally its generally considered less addictive than your typical opioid becasue its absorbed rather slowly through the digestive system. But if ground up and snorted it can enter the blood stream much quicker and be very addictive.

My guess is its on the banned substance list becasue of the potential of that abuse.

It can also apparently be used in a PED, in that it allows athletes to exert themselves more with the traditional pain consequences.  At least, I think that's the gist of it:

I don't think they have a choice. They don't have a legit starting center and Hayes/Len doesn't play many minutes it seems. DFS and Vincent get some minutes but they still need another guy to play some minutes and Knecht is it usually behind Reaves. Vanderbilt hasn't been giving them much either when he plays. That team doesn't really have good depth behind DFS who is their 6th man. Their defense has also taken a hit as you said. Charlotte had no problem scoring late in the 4th and in fact, they were actually attacking the Lakers inside. You definitely didn't see that in the past with both AD and Lebron there. Lamelo was putting Doncic on skates too lol

I really hope Boston packs the paint against them in the rematch next month. But knowing the C's they'll somehow lose the home game and get swept by LAL lol.

Yeah, and 4 days after the LAL game we play OKC. That'll be a rough stretch.

But besides that and maybe the West Coast trip in mid-March, the rest of our schedule doesn't seem so bad. I mean our April schedule (7 games) only has one tough game (the Knicks) and otherwise the rest are mediocre teams (maybe Phoenix is a tricky spot)

Indy versus Memphis could be good game. On now.

Announcers saying both teams are in good health. Sounds like all the major players for both sides will play tonight.

Ja Morant vs Tyrese Haliburton
Jaren Jackson vs Myles Turner

Good matchups.

Desmond Bane. Pascal Siakam.

Zach Edey drains a 3.

I did not realize he shot 3s. Apparently he has been shooting one 3 a game at 35% for the season.

Edey in and out with his second three point attempt.

He is sealing off the rim for Indiana. They are scared of Edey when they drive. Snatching rebounds easily too. Controlling the basket area on defense.
