My preferred outcome for the rest of the season is for us to lose every single game and finish 1-16. Surely we would end up with the No.1 pick in the draft if we manage that, which is very, very possible. Even if we don't use it and trade down since the reality is we suck, we need help everywhere. We need O-line upgrades, both at tackle, at WR, tight end, defensively we need an edge rusher and in the secondary (especially if Jabrill is gone which he probably will be). Any wins this year will just be feel-good wins that won't have any practical benefit and may weaken our draft position. Rebuilds suck but this is the reality of our situation.

The other thing about getting hammered the remaining games is that it is a great catalyst for change. That way there's impetus to get rid of Wolf, Mayo, Van Pelt and the other clowns running this circus. Shame we can't get rid of Robert too, he's got command responsibility for how terrible we've been the last five years.

If we fire our head coach after one year then it doesn't matter how good our picks or signing are, we'll be headed straight for the toilet. You don't hire a first time head coach and then fire him because he struggled in his first year, that's how you end up as a terrible team/franchise that good coaches avoid.

It's probably what we deserve after the great stretch we had, but I'd still rather avoid it.

Van Pelt needs to go, though. Agree on your point about Mayo.  I think the only situation where you dump him this offseason is if he has completely lost the locker room and the feedback from the players is pretty unanimous hatred of the guy.

I guess the good news is they're looking at another high pick this year, and Drake Maye looks like he at least has he potential to be special. But boy the rest of the team is a mess.

If the c's can get a Offensive Tackle and a WR1 I'd be excited to see what the offense can be moving forward. A Tre #1 WR helps the rest of that unit fall into place.

The most disappointing thing has been the defense. They just don't stop the run, at all.

It's amazing how much more fun watching this team is with Mate out there instead of Brissett. He has an X-factor that we haven't seen at QB for a while.

And as much as I'd like to see us get a good pick... FTJ. Go Pats, bury them!

Ugh more posting issues

Wonder who will Aaron Rodgers blame if they lose today.

That said, for the sake of draft positioning...hope the Pats drop another L

How is the Jets offense as dysfunctional as it is?  They've got good to very good skilled position players.  I really do think Rodgers just doesn't give a [squat] anymore.

Mayo just confirmed Maye out for the remainder.  Not much reason to watch.

Can't believe the Patriots actually beat Aaron Rodgers in Foxboro. Wow. Who will Rodgers blame this time around?

In other news, there goes our draft positioning for Travis Hunter  :'(

That's kind of what I was afraid of...that he had lost the locker room. All the potshots players were taking at each other and at coaching staff in the media, you wonder if he's started to lose control of the team and the locker room. Otherwise I would agree, the optics of knee-jerk hiring and firing is not good, and obviously doesn't help someone grow, like Mazzulla did. I never felt Mazzulla lost his team though, they seemed to be behind him all the way. Never had an issue with his leadership. His deficiencies were more with the technical aspects of the game, like the on-court functions (timeouts, plays, subs, etc). All stuff you can learn or delegate to a good coaching staff.

With Mayo my issue is with his leadership of the team, and whether they still have his back. At least today they responded to him and eked out a win - sure the Jets were trash but it still takes resilience to come back and win a game in the last 2 mins. We don't expect to win every game (or even most of them with the quality of team we have) but we want some fight and some evidence of togetherness. We'll see if Mayo can galvanize them to be a tough out the last nine games.

Dan Orlovsky on First Take had a mind blowing stat. In the history of the NFL, teams are 750-1 when they score over 20 points, have no turnovers, and gave up less than 250 yards defensively. The Jets yesterday were the first team to ever lose in that situation.

Maybe the Jets should go add Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings to go help "Fraudgers" as well.

Seriously, it's kinda sad how they've turned over everything to him. Saleh wasn't the problem. That team has a lot of talent but a mopey prick at QB who also doesn't take accountability and honestly even his skills on the field have diminished.

Lol what a pathetic franchise. How do you lose to THIS Patriots team. And not gonna lie but this tweet made me laugh out loud for real:

It's one thing when Tom Brady did this in the last two minutes to the Jets. But Jacoby Brissett?

If you lose to a 1-6 or 2-6 Patriots team, your team gotta reevaluate themselves

This Patriots / Titans game is hideous. Every time either team gets a chunk of yards there's a penalty.

And Maye just got clobbered again. Sigh.
