Tremendous throw by Maye on that TD. This is why we drafted him. Now we just need to keep him upright.

Great throw.  Boutee makes plays.

Drake's season nearly just ended after that blindside hit/fumble. Trainers had to look at the shoulder. Lowe is done for the day at LT with injury. If we don't protect Drake this could turn into one of the greatest tragedies in Patriots history.

Throwing on first down might be a good idea.  Geez.

I guess it didn?t work out too well. But running Gibson has produced zero, and leave Drake facing 2nd and 3rd and long. Needless to say, he needs to get the ball out of his hands quickly.

Impressive drive for the Pats, the offense looked more in sync than they have all season. I expect the Texans to bring more pressure the next drive. Pats need to get a stop and keep momentum.

I thought Drake looked like a future star out there. He made one really bad INT throw but was otherwise good considering the amount of pressure he was under. He has excellent physical tools and made some good decisions.

I still have concerns that he will get hurt anchoring this pathetic offense though. Everyone just looks overwhelmed out there.

Pats need a lot of help. Maye won't last the whole season with this line.

I told people last year this defense is overrated. They bottom ten. Teams usually take off the gas against Pats so they don't put up a ton. Texans just wanted this win too much to let up.

I dunno about bottom 10. When the offense is 2nd to last in scoring, and on top of that turning the ball over, it takes a pretty good defense to even rank in the middle of the pack. They're constantly in a bad position.

It's not a GREAT defense, but if the Pats were driving down the field and scoring 25 per game, I betcha the defense would suddenly look top-10.

I thought Maye had a solid first outing. AVP did a decent job calling the plays for him as well. Will be interesting to see how things go over the next few weeks.

My biggest takeaway is that a) he looks like he has the attributes we need for that position, albeit from a small sample size of one game; b) he showed some composure under pressure (again, one game) and c) he didn't get hurt. To me c) is the most important. Ultimately we still lost by over 20, but at least we got to feel a little bit better about ourselves  :police:

We haven't had a QB that had great reads and throws since the Tom Brady days. If you look at the past few QBs, they were stifling and just lost out there especially after getting mangled up by the rushers (Mac Jones, Bailey Zappe, Jacoby Brissett, Cam Newton)

Excited for Maye!

I think last years defense was actually underrated. So many turnovers and then injuries to Judon and Gonzalez left them looking much worse than they really were.

I don't quite feel the same way about this years group. I think we are really missing Judon, Barmore and the Belichicks.

Yesterday was definitely an improvement on offense, though throwing 2 picks didn't help, and that's likely to keep happening for a while with a rookie QB (regardless of who's fault the picks are).

Ah well. Bring on the high draft pick.

I'd like the high pick, but I'm not so sure it will be that high.  Top 10 probably, but maybe not top 5.  The next few games are against beatable opponents - Jaguars, Jets, Titans, and Bears.  Bears are 4-2 and Daniels is a phenom but they may not be as good as their record, though Daniels might destroy the Pats.  If Patriots go 0-4 in this stretch, then top 5 is likely.  But if they go 3-1, they probably end up outside the top 5.
