Yesterday was definitely an improvement on offense, though throwing 2 picks didn't help, and that's likely to keep happening for a while with a rookie QB (regardless of who's fault the picks are).

Ah well. Bring on the high draft pick.

I'd like the high pick, but I'm not so sure it will be that high.  Top 10 probably, but maybe not top 5.  The next few games are against beatable opponents - Jaguars, Jets, Titans, and Bears.  Bears are 4-2 and Daniels is a phenom but they may not be as good as their record, though Daniels might destroy the Pats.  If Patriots go 0-4 in this stretch, then top 5 is likely.  But if they go 3-1, they probably end up outside the top 5.

I never really want them to lose, but wins this year seem fairly meaningless. I hope the young guys develop, of course, and a pick in the 6-10 range could still be very useful, but I'd love for them to have a crack at the top receiver or top O-lineman.

Yep, and for whatever it's worth, I think the Bears are solidly better than the Pats.

If they couldn't beat the mistake-prone Dolphins team led by Tyler Huntley in Foxboro last weekend, then none of these opponents are beatable to the Pats.

That being said, next Sunday is the Travis Hunter Bowl. Fitting that it's a London game, a toilet bowl fest! We might even get to see Mac Jones in action!

Good point. Though it might've been a different outcome had Maye been playing then. Anyway, I think Williams is gonna run wild against the Pats.

Robert K Kraft on a recent talk show said Brady went over to his house and cried that he's going to leave the Patriots because he believes Brady and Belichick didn't get along and that influenced his decision to leave?

Wait I thought RKK could've just paid Brady? Lol sounds like Kraft is crying wolf right at this point

Kraft is proving to be a fraud IMO.

I don't deny Belichick's involvement in Brady leaving either, but come on, YOU'RE THE OWNER! He definitely didn't want to give Brady the multi-year deal he was seeking (around 2 years, 30-35M AAV) which Tampa gave him. Brady took discounts all those years and Kraft benefitted from it.

And btw, we've had major needs at numerous positions over the last 4-5 years and yet we never address them (notably offensive line and #1 WR). We still have 50M in cap space this year while fielding a high school offensive line. What is that being saved on, the Gillette Stadium construction???

2021 was a bit of an outlier where they spent a ton in FA, but that is like the only time, otherwise they never spend big in FA. Didn't the last two offseasons either.

I'm not going to be that guy that says Kraft is a "bad owner" and "did nothing right", but tbh I think he's being exposed all these years post-Brady now. I'm becoming more convinced that Belichick, while not a good GM might not have had the monetary resources to get things done. And then you had that recent documentary where the Krafts painted Belichick as a "villain". A hit piece. Pathetic.

Kraft is at it again.  :blank:

During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Patriots owner Robert Kraft said he fired coach Bill Belichick.

At the time, the Patriots said Belichick and the team had mutually agreed to part ways. The decision wasn?t so mutual on Belichick?s part, Kraft said. I kept him for 24 years, Kraft said. I didn?t enjoy having to fire him, but I tried to do it  if you look at the press conference and how it happened, tried to do it in a classy way.

What he did for us was great. People need to adapt, Kraft added. People need to adapt and if they don?t, things can change. In life, it?s about getting good chemistry and trust and I feel that our record the last three or four years wasn?t what I wanted.

Drake Maye lands on Patriots injury report, reportedly went for MRI.

The Patriots QB was listed on the team?s injury report with a knee injury on Wednesday. But the third-overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft was still listed as a full participant during practice at Gillette Stadium and held his usual media availability earlier that morning.

However, Ben Volin of The Boston Globe noted on X Wednesday evening that Maye went for an MRI after practice. Maye?s status is something worth monitoring for the rest of the week, as the Patriots will fly out to London on Thursday evening before taking on the Jaguars Sunday at Wembley Stadium.

Maye was sacked four times and was hit another eight times during last Sunday?s 41-21 loss to the Texans. He was slow to get up on two of those sacks from Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, but did not miss any snaps at Gillette Stadium.

Not surprised. Any improvement Maye brings to the offense will likely be nullified soon by a long-term injury because of NE?s worst-in-the-league O-line.

He's a POS.  There were rumors that he was out screwing around when Myra was on her last days.

Also, back to the Maye MRI report,  Volin is the only one tweeting that story.  No one else in the media has been reporting it.  I wouldn't be shock if this was another Volin fabrication.  You figure Schefter, Rappaport, Russini, etc.... would have said something about it by now.
