I still think my plan to trade for J. Fields and drafting MHJ would have been the better choice this offseason. Because whatever this is that they're putting on the field is complete garbage
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

My Plan B was trading for Fields and drafting Alt (the tackle). But I also had WR1 as someone we added in FA or trade.

Plan A for me was Jayden Daniels or Maye. That said, what I didn't realize was that the "bridge" QB they acquired was Brissett. Sorry but he's just awful and boring. Nice guy, but still...

I keep saying it though. 50M still left in cap space. What the hell are they saving it for???

Nice to have a kicking game!

For all the talk about Brissett taking care of the football and his mobility... I don't see it.

Wide open space and he just hesitates (doesn't run for an easy 1st), and then gets stripped sacked rather easily. And this season he's had like 4-5 balls which were easy INTs but luckily the defender dropped it.

Maye might make some mistakes too but he can definitely make more plays as well.

I don?t think Maye starts next week. They wouldn?t even let him play in garbage time today.

Next 6 are "sorta" winnable for them so I think they continue to roll with Jacoby. Tho won't surprise me if they go 1-5 or 2-4

I didn't think they played all that bad, all things considered. The defense gave them a chance. The O Line however gives them no chance to be competitive against decent teams. The left tackle and right guard both got beaten like drums all day. They absolutely suck. Also the tackle they drafted in the 3rd round this year went down along with Andrews. It's not going to get any better.

Jacoby is what he is and always has been - a serviceable backup who you can't win with if he has to play too many games. He's not very good. But this line can't pass protect to save its life. Its only a matter of time before Jacoby goes down. Another reason not to rush Maye to play.

Why not draft a tackle with in R2?  The WR they took, Polk gets no separation. He's not looking like a great pick at this point. Then they signed that Okafur guy who in theory would have started and he lasted 12 plays before quitting on them.

Their coaching isn't bad. Their offensive personnel continues to suck. I'm not sold on Wolf as a personnel guy at this point either.

Kraft 100% should have fired Wolf along with BB.

We need to bring in someone who can draft offensive players. The losing isn't about X's and O's. It's about talent.

I agree keep Drake glued to that bench. This year is about him learning what NOT to do.

Plot twist-- maybe Kraft was also too involved in the drafting and signings for this team

I'm just not sure how Maye is supposed to be "developing" on the sidelines watching all this unfold either. At least with guys like Love, Mahomes, Rodgers, etc. they could look at competent QBs who made the playoffs (Favre, Alex Smith, Rodgers). Brissett is just awful and there are lots of bad things unfolding around the field.

Btw, the Commanders are said to have a bad O-Line, but Jayden Daniels seems to be doing fine and he's certainly also benefitting from having great coaching + OC Kingsbury. Meanwhile the Pats have Van Pelt who was like the 11th guy they interviewed and has never been an official OC elsewhere.

If Maye doesn't play next week and they fall to 1-4, I think it's gonna get real ugly. Game's at Gillette, Brady is commentating it on FOX, and it kind of feels like a "pivotal" game in the sense of, will they be another 3-14 or 4-13 team, or could they still squeak out some wins and be semi-competitive?

But I'm sorry, if they roll with Brissett most of this season I'm not gonna tune in either, this offense is offensive to watch.

Yeah, I didn?t like that pick at all. Baker isn?t looking good either. It?s almost like the Patriots aren?t good at drafting WR?s.
