Biggest losers to me today are Van Pelt and Elliot Wolf. The play-calling, our terrible O-Line. It's on them. Brissett is what he is but tbh there were still times he actually bailed them out by scrambling and making passes to Henry. This roster management and play-calling is malpractice.

And for all the talk about our receiving core... idk but today it didn't seem like many of them could actually get open or make plays (besides the Polk TD pass). It mostly had to be Henry and our RBs

Yeah, I?m not sold on any of them. They don?t have size or explosive speed. Bourne will likely be the best WR on this team when he returns.

Our WRs had 2 catches this game. This offense SUCKS

Well, yeah. The O-line sucks. Course he?s going to get injured at some point.

So what happens when  rissett goes down? Drake would get slaughtered out there. Same with Joe Milton. Are we going to risk our future QBs or sign another meat bag off the scrap heap?

I hope Wolf and Mayo are on the same page here and have a plan.

If only the Pats had cap space during the offseason to address the O-line. Smh.

I'm assuming they're rolling over that cap space to use it next year. But what good is that if everyone gets injured this year? They should have anticipated this

They're trying to be smart but it's impractical

Yeah idk... everyone said they had a ton of cap space going into this season to begin with and still had 50M left over. I don't trust them to spend all the cap room next offseason either. Plus the FA class doesn't look as flashy. I sort of buy into the belief that they didn't spend to the cap because of all the construction and renovation projects around Gillette.

Again, it's just negligent that they didn't get a real LT and a #1 WR when those were two of our biggest needs along with QB (which they got with their #3 pick)

They also re-signed a lot of their own guys, which is fine but it makes you wonder if they couldn't have maybe just used some of that money to overpay someone like Calvin Ridley, or a LT, etc.

Sadly hilarious. Pats pull off an amazing road win last week, giving fans false hope that was crushed this week. The D is pretty good but the O isn?t. Hopefully they don?t toy with us anymore this season.

I'm looking forward to the Pats kicking Rodgers ass.

I didn't know what to make of last weeks win. The Bengals under Burrough are awful in the first two weeks each season. Higgins didn't play and Chase hadn't practiced with the team. Also, didn't Cincinnati turn the ball over twice in scoring position. It felt like a fools gold won to me.

My guess is that it probably was fool's gold. But it was enough to get people hyped and start thinking that maybe the Patriots won't be awful this season. To be fair, the defense is really good and should be good the whole season, barring a bunch of injuries. The offense, though ... Brissett's not a dynamic player who's going to elevate the play of those around him, plus he might not last long with this O-line (he took several big hits Sunday). Stevenson's awesome, but we've yet to see if he can keep up this pace for a whole season. Henry's good, but the receiving corp has a lot to prove.

Why are people all of sudden acting surprised that we have many holes to fill in our team? Considering how bad we are supposed to be, I thought we did really well against Seattle. Our defense played really well with the exception of a few bunnies that they should have caught. Our offensive line looked weak and Brissett had to rush some throws, but I thought we did a decent job or running the ball and keeping drives going. With more time Brissett could have made better throws, but at the same time, he didn't make too many mistakes and actually had some decent plays.

The fact that they were pretty close to being 2-0 and the game went to overtime, I think it bodes well for the team. They seem to be playing hard and are not making silly mistakes. So far so good.

What I took from the game was that Gino Smith was much better than Jacoby Brissett.  Make of that what you may.  They were able to make plays on our defense.  People were getting open, plays were being made, they were moving the ball.

In our case, we are still the epitome of plain vanilla on offense.  I don't think they dare to try anything complicated because:

  1.  They don't trust the O Line
  2.  They recognize the limitations of Brissett
  3.  Our receivers are young and things need to be kept fairly simple for them

We are probably lucky to be 1 - 1.  CIN turned the ball over for us, SEA didn't.  We have been great regarding turnovers, we are not beating ourselves.  But simply not losing only goes so far.  At some point, you need to be able to create a win, make some things happen.

Brissett has been a big improvement over Mac Jones so far, at least he is not hurting the team.  But he is not really making plays either, which isn't entirely his fault.  I can be patient.  I was not expecting anything different.
