The biggest thing is, Mac and Zappe last year were full on arsonists. The poor pick-6s, not throwing it to open guys and making poor decisions. Brissett yesterday wasn't flashy but he didn't turn the ball over once, and for the most part I thought he actually made some good throws on some crucial 3rd downs. He took what the defense gave him even on the short throws to move the chains and eat up clock. And he scrambled a few times to pick up first downs. Mac or Zappe were too slow.

What surprised me more was our O-Line. Sure, Brissett got hit a few times BUT I believe the O-Line only had two penalties, and once Lowe came in for Okorafor he actually stabilized LT. The O-Line also got some good push and led to Stevenson having some nice runs. Got to give the unit props.

This is why Brisett and Stevenson had success yesterday. The O-line opened up lanes and Jacoby was only sacked once. They did a decent job protecting him. The O-line last year was much worse.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Not to be that guy, because obviously Tua's health comes first and he has a big decision to make (continue playing or retire).

But it's trending towards our Week 5 game being against Miami and... Skylar Thompson.

IF New England wins tomorrow and goes to 2-0, then I'm not gonna lie but I'll start to have some excitement that this team could actually be a wild card team this year. And not necessarily because we're great (we're far from it) but the way it's trending for the rest of the league there might be some openings. Injuries, some teams dealing with "off-field" adversities, etc.

Or we could simply get blown out tomorrow and it's back to "Tank for Tackles"   :P

Dolphins fan here. Skylar Thompson is awful. Pats will win that game.

I?m predicting the Pats beat Seattle 20-17.

Not an unreasonable prediction. The Pats were only able to score 16 vs. CIN. That is what gives me some pause. I don?t know how the SEA defense compares to CIN.

I?d pick the Seattle defense over Cinci, and I?m picking Seattle over NE accordingly.  Seattle only gave up 3.3 yards per play last week.

I'm staying the hell away from that game from a gambling standpoint.

We've lost 6 of our last 7 against the Dolphins lol. And the one win was only a two point win at home dating back to two seasons ago. We'll see how the Pats fare against the next three games first

Jacoby connects to Polk for a 5-yd TD, Pats up 7-0!

Really good start for the pats.  D again looking pretty fierce and ready. Offense with a nice drive for the score. Brissett using his legs well and throwing on the run.

Spoke too soon. D pretty soft on that drive.

DK Metcalf burned the defense with a 56-yard TD. Yikes. 7-all.

It's not elite/flashy, but the offense already looks MILES better than the previous two seasons.

3rd and longs don't seem as "daunting" anymore. Pats doing a good job using Henry as well. Brissett mostly making smart decisions. And I got to say the O-Line is mostly holding up fine.

Also that bullet TD pass to Polk was refreshing to see.

A bit more concerned about the defense in this game. They are getting handled pretty well and SEA's receiving group is definitely giving them fits.

The difference in talent between the respective receiving corps is striking.

Seattle's guys are getting open with relative ease. But it's a battle on each play for the Pats receivers to get any separation.

And the line is collapsing way too much. Brissett has been great at feeling the pressure so far, but we need to give him more time. We're not getting any easy plays.
