Say what?

Free agent center Jonas Valanciunas has agreed on a three-year, $30 million deal with the Washington Wizards, sources tell ESPN.

Yeah, I saw a rumour Washington were interested in him. I don't get it either. You just drafted Alex Sarr to be your new center.

And that is only an MLE deal. Why not look for that from a playoff team? He could have gotten that elsewhere and been on a much better team.

Washington have Richaun Holmes and Mo Bagley as extra big men as well.

PF: Kuzma, Mo Bagley
 C: Valanciunas, A Sarr, R Holmes

I don't see the need for Valanciunas. It is not like they are ready to win. They have one of the 2-3 worst teams in the league. Why not just play the young lad Sarr?

11 million for Paul and Spurs. Seems like an odd move for both teams.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Eric Gordon to Philly.

The Clippers refused to modify their offer to PG, meaning he's leaving.  Philly is the only suitor left.

I thought that with Klay leaving GS, that GS was still in play for PG?

edit:  never mind I didn't realize it needed to be a trade

The Valenciunas move to Washington is very weird to me...

If they are going for a vet like Valanciunas, maybe that means they intend to keep Brogdon as well.

Chris Paul turned 39 two months ago. He already has some of the lowest attempts at the rim in the league along with the a miniscule number of FT attempts. His TS% has been down around 54-55% for the last 2 seasons as a result.

He is likely to decline even further next season.

He gets a big role as a mentor, and then can be traded to a contender at the deadline.

Actually that makes more sense

You would wonder if CP3 could have had a similar role for OKC as he just got with San Antonio.

G: CP3, Cason Wallace
G: SGA, Caruso

From what I saw last year, CP3 is absolutely cooked.   He is a glorified assistant coach.  He will be playing 1/2 the minutes that Al will.

Tony Jones of the Athletic is sayin Denver offered similar money and the same years as Orlando did.

KCP still went with Orlando.
