Adam Himmelsbach: Per sources, the Celtics have declined Neemias Queta?s option, creating an opening for Queta to later agree to a multi-year deal with Boston in free agency.  ? via Twitter AdamHimmelsbach

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Yeah...I am passing on bringing him back unless you can't attract anyone else. Celtics now enter free agency with four roster spots open after declining Neemias Queta's option. 2 of those spots need to be bigs (Kornet and Tillman or someone else) and one needs to be a vet wing.

They will presumably give him a qualifying offer if they intend to keep him, as they did with Hauser two years ago.  Look for a similar 2-3 year deal with like Hauser got in 2022 as well.

I just hope Queta isn't the plan to be the center off the bench until KP gets back.

Queta is often lost on both ends.

I don?t think the plan is for Queta to be the only option.  I do they they?d like to utilize KPs absence to see if more playing time helps him get less lost, however.  The other choices will be Tillman, Kornet, and vets on the minimum, so no one we get will be without their warts.

so, when do you think we can realistically start hearing about extensions for White/hauser

obviously white being the most important in my eyes to lock up now. Also, i could be wrong. but I feel like white is the guy who might take less with an extension rather than wait until FA and try and squeeze every last penny.

I think you will see Tatum resigned before the Olympics
Sam probably around 7/9
White most likely at the end of July/early August

Is that serious?  If so, just burning money.

I guess we'll see how robust the trade market is for guys making under $7.5 million is ant the trade deadline. Also, I think Luke could veto any trade, although that rule always confuses me.

Skeptical on this.

No he doesn?t, as with a 1-year deal he can veto trades.  That said, I?ve seen nowhere reputable report an amount.

Probably at the minimum, largely non-guaranteed?
