Funny how Laker fans are mocking JT and JB for playing 40+ minutes in a ?meaningless? regular season game. They?re saying Boston treated the game like a Game 7. Their egos must be really hurt.

Wasn't Lebron on pace to play like 41 minutes before he got injured? The Lakers REALLY wanted that one and were thoroughly outplayed. Although I do agree that Tatum probably should have been given 3 minutes to rest at the start of the 4th. It would have brought him to 42 minutes and it's not like that was his best stretch. He looked tired.

Re: Porzingis - I laughed when I saw somebody on Reddit say he had Lebronchitis. The rumor is that he is dealing with bronchitis, so I guess he'll be ready when he's ready. I don't think any of us are all that upset that he's getting extra rest.

I think there's plenty of time coming for rest.  Once we get past OKC on Wednesday there's sixteen games left.  Brooklyn, Charlotte, Phoenix and Miami each twice.  Memphis, Orlando, Washington, San Antonio, Sacramento, Portland, Utah and the Knicks.

They're not catching Cleveland.  The Knicks game is towards the end of the season and if that turns out to be a game that has any significance for seeing I think we've got other things to worry about.

They do have a six game road trip over 10 days later this month.  Wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of resting or if playing, experimenting with different lineups.

Just noticed, the C's are now an entire 6 games up on NY for the 2 seed. So that's wrapped up

Hopefully NY can hang on to the 3 seed and MIL stays in the 4-5 bracket.

7-10 looks like it'll be some form of ATL, ORL, MIA, & CHI.  Can't imagine DET/IND dipping down or BKN/PHI going on a run.

I'm so sick of playing Atlanta, haha.

For selfish reasons, I'd love a BOS-CHI series.

I was looking at the box scores of last night's games and I saw Anton Watson played for the Knicks. He got 4 minutes. They won by almost 30pts so presumably garbage time.

I didn't even know the Knicks picked him up. Straight into the team. From the descriptions of Anton Watson when we drafted him, he does sound like a Thibs sort of player. Looks a good fit for player and team. I hope it works out for him there.

As of this morning, Boston has a 5.5 game lead on NY and NY has a 5 game lead on the Bucks/Pacers/Pistons who are all tied (Detroit, actually has 1 more win and 1 more loss than the other two), with 5.5 games separating them from #7.

So it's definitely feeling like 1-3 is set with the 3 teams in spots 4-6 being set in some order.

Next 8 games: MIA, BKN, BKN, UTAH, POR, SAC, PHO, SAS

Just start resting guys in addition to Porzingis. Give Jrue another week. Maybe Horford as well. White/Jaylen/Tatum can rotate some days off. We're locked into the 2 seed anyways basically.

Our remaining schedule is also pretty easy overall. Their only "tough" games are only Memphis, NY and maybe Orlando if ORL is playing for something?

?The Celtics are really taking it day-by-day with Kristaps Porzingis and this viral illness that he has,? Charania said ahead of the game Wednesday. ?They don?t quite know when he?s going to return. And honestly, they don?t know quite know what exactly has led to this viral illness. They?re still trying to get to the bottom of what exactly this is. But I am told they?re hoping to have those medical answers here in the next couple of days to see exactly what this is and when he could return to the floor.?

Porzingis gave an update on his status on social media Monday, saying he?s recovering and getting better. But he also added they?re still trying to identify the viral illness, which Charania also mentioned as part of the unknown with this illness.

It's strange to me that the team can't figure out what virus he has.  I mean, I expect that when I go to my local doctor, but not from some of the more talented doctors in Boston.
