The Utah Jazz are trading Simone Fonteccio to the Detroit Pistons for a 2024 second-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

Kevin Knox, 2024 second-round pick via Wizards and draft rights to Gabriele Procida to go Jazz in deal, sources tell ESPN.

I don't understand this trade for either team.  I guess Utah doesn't see a fit for Simone Fonteccio in their future but Detroit does?

Anyway, as to the discussion about a late first vs. and early second, there is more flexibility with late second pick.  I believe first round pick contracts are guaranteed.  Second round picks can be offered 2-way deals, like we did for Davison.  I am not sure that would have made or broke this deal, I suspect the Celtics just weren't that interested in Simone Fonteccio.

76ers really falling apart. Curious how far they will drop.

Yeah, 3-7 in their last 10, and most of those losses by double digits.  They’re 4-12 without Embiid this year —if they continue only winning 25% of their games for the next 6-8 weeks, they’ll be lucky to stay ahead of Chicago in the standings.  Nurse needs to turn things around fast, or it might be four straight missed playoffs for him.  We’ll see what Morey does today, but my guess is little.

As Knicks and Cavs are climbing.

How good are the Knicks and Cavs? Current trajectory would have them fighting it out in the conference semis - so Cs will only have to face one of them. Of course that means Cs getting the Sixers (maybe with Embiid back) or Bucks in the semis.

For those who’ve been watching the Knicks since acquiring OG and the Cavs - how much of a threat are they?

Btw - really happy to get Tillman. Could be a plus v. NY or Cleveland.

Haven't followed his career, but looks like the dude fell off a cliff. 1st round, 9th overall pick by NYK in 2018. Averaged 13 ppg in his rookie season. Now he is a throw-in with a 2nd rounder in trade.

The Sixers last night looked hopeless and Maxey couldn't do much either. It's basically on him to take on the scoring load otherwise the Sixers may get wiped out most nights.

I think they'll drop into play-in territory.

If I'm Embiid I just take the rest of this season off. No point coming back as like a 7-10 seed and probably losing first round anyways even if you make it out of the play-in tournament

Knicks are not a threat. They are a mid-tier playoff squad. A strong defensive team but lack the firepower to hang with top squads.

The dream is still alive.

#Suns are trading out Chimezie Metu, Keita-Bates Diop, Jordan Goodwin and Yuta Watanabe and getting Royce O'Neale and David Roddy in return, sources have informed @azcentral. So that leaves them two roster spots open for the buyout market.

That's a good trade for the Suns.

That's the type of deal I was hoping for.  Consolidate our useless vet minimum contracts into a player or two who can contribute.  I'm surprised there are no draft picks.

I feel like PHX have underutized all those guys this year. Not Goodwin, he has never made an impression on me one way or the other. The other three guys though have all been badly used. Especially Diop. I feel he should have started for PHX at SF to boost their D instead of that three guard alignment they have gone with instead. Metu has done well enough for them but deserved more PT with how well he has played. Watanabe hasn't gotten enough of a chance. He is a useful player.

O'Neale is a great pickup for them. I just feel their coaching staff has done a terrible job with those guys.
