No idea why the Bucks would do this.

The Dallas Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks have discussed a Grant Williams-Bobby Portis swap, per
@TheSteinLine

“The Bucks and Mavericks, league sources say, have held exploratory discussions on a trade that would swap Milwaukee's Bobby Portis Jr. and Dallas newcomer Grant Williams.”

Poor Bobby. Didn’t he take less money in order to stay with the Bucks?

Maybe they want someone better at defending the perimeter than Portis is? Given they're getting absolutely drilled from there?

The bucks need to not play Beasley and Lilliard major minutes together if they want to improve their perimeter defense. Nobody can improve that with them both playing

Cavs commentators complaining Jarrett Allen didn't make the All-Star Game. Kings commentators complaining Sabonis didn't make the ASG. Minnesota commentators complaining Gobert didn't make the ASG.

Lots of people having strong seasons who did not make the cut this year. Feels like more than normal. There is always a a couple. This year it feels more like a dozen.

I like the way Cleveland are pushing the ball. They are getting it up the floor quick. Both off misses and made hoops. Making much of an effort to stop the opponent from setting up their defense.

I hope they keep that up. Nice change from them last season. Get some easier hoops.

That guy Sam Merrill looks a nice shooter. A bit like Sam Hauser. A smaller version. A 6-5 SG.

If Milwaukee did make that trade, I'd like to see them start Grant Williams at SF and bring Middleton off the bench. Grant would be their best defensive forward at the point of attack. Their best stopper. I'd like to see him given that role.

That said, I wouldn't make the trade. It is fixing one problem while creating a new problem. Namely that they then have no backup big men. You can see how weak their other bigs are with Brook injured at the moment. They suck outside of their main three Giannis, Brook and Portis. They need to keep Portis.

I don’t get this at all. I see Portis as a better player than Grant Williams.  It would be a great trade for Dallas. It makes no sense for Milwaukee at all in my mind.

Agreed…if im Milwaukee I want grant Williams but I’m all set if I have to give up portis…makes no sense

He's basically making the MLE.  Who was offering him more than that?
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

How good are Philly without Embiid?

I thought they were still able to play at a 50 win type level last year without Embiid because they turn the club over more to James Harden and you had Maxey & T Harris in 2nd and 3rd option roles. So you still maintained a highly effective offense without Embiid. No Harden this year though.

C: P Reed, Mo Bamba
F: T Harris, Marcus Morris
F: K Oubre, Batum
G: D Melton,
G: Maxey, Pat Beverley

Others: Kenyon Martin Jr, Danuel House, Rob Covington, Korkmaz,

How good is that Philly team?

Is that a .500 team? Will Philly limp into the playoffs with a .500 record? Fall to a 5th-6th seed?

Are they worse than a .500 team? Is Maxey good enough to carry them to .500? Are they actually more like a 30-35 win ball club? A 25-30 win ball club?

How good is this group without Embiid?

Sorry i was referring to his previous contract extension. He chose to stay with the bucks at a discount even if teams like Miami and Dallas were courting him. He signed the big deal after that. Thanks for correcting.

They really do miss harden with Embid out. I think they are a below .500 or maybe .500 without him this year.
