Man the bucks look like a shell at this point. Old.

We act like they’ve fallen off like the warriors. They’ve played awful and haven’t put it together yet, fired a coach and hired doc and are a whopping 5 games behind us and the 2 seed in the east. Last year they were unstoppable in the regular season and lost in the playoffs right away, I could see the opposite happening this year. The disregard of them is mind numbing to me, until they’re knocked out I will view them as a legit threat.

the difference in how you talk about the celtics and the bucks after losses is astounding. If the Celtics were losing in such fashion having one of the worst defenses in the league you would not give them as much excuses as you do carrying water for milwaukee.

you also act like a 5 game lead is nothing. a 5 game lead in the west is the difference between the #1 and #5 seed.

You continue to make excuses for the Bucks. No one is writing them off. But at this current time they are not a good team. Don't play defense, look old and their fans themselves are in doubt with Doc running the vets into the ground already.

Win or lose you continue to just hammer the Celtics. They never are good enough for you. You poke holes in everything they do. You treat them as if they are a play in team. I will call them out for bad losses (the Lakers for sure) but the Celtics are the best team in the east. Can they lose in the playoffs... sure.

When the Bucks lose you simply gloss over it, give them credit, find excuses and go back to hammering the Celtics. It is such a weird flex.

I’m not sure if he’s a Bucks troll specifically, but I don’t take his posts seriously.  Imagine his posts if the Celtics were up by 14 early in the 4th and went on to lose by 15.

Bucks lose the back-to-back at Utah, so the Celtics once again have a 5-game lead in the East, their largest since 2008.

The 2008 Celtics finished 7 games ahead of Detroit in the East, but didn't take a 5-game lead until March 12th.

And a 3 game lead over OKC & MIN for best record in the league and HCA in the Finals.

The Celtics are the best team in the league and no team has bigger/higher expectations I just have my doubts with them breaking through when it really matters.
Trust me I hate the bucks but I’m not writing them off and think it’s a toss up if we matchup with them in the playoffs. Pretty sure none of us thought the 8th seeded heat would beat us and win the east last season. I’m not writing off dame and Gianns because of a rocky regular season. Sorry.

I’m a fan. I’m overly critical of my team and have respect for our legit competition. I’ve watched enough sports to know not to count out the bucks. It’s laughable.
The blatant homerism is what bothers me. If the roles were reversed I’d be saying the Celtics have a chance in the playoffs against the bucks.

I think all of us probably pay more attention to the Celtics than most other teams in the league, which means we'll be more critical - we have seen them play better than they have when they are playing badly, and because we watch them a lot, we see a lot more 'bad' basketball from the Celtics than we do from other teams.
"...unceasingly we are bombarded with pseudo-realities manufactured by very sophisticated people using very sophisticated electronic mechanisms. I do not distrust their motives; I distrust their power. They have a lot of it."

Plus when we do see teams they are playing there best trying to beat the top team in the NBA. We get every team's best shot.

How is it blind homerism to point out that Milwaukee has issues?  :o

It’s the extreme inconsistency in your treatment of both teams that causes this reaction.

And don’t lie you wouldn’t give such a rosy assessment of the Celtics if they were 5 games behind Milwaukee with a bottom NBA defense and KP struggling by to fit in and on their 3rd coach in a year.

You already have an extreme negative view with them being the top team in the NBA

It’s the people completely counting out Milwaukee and acting like they can’t beat us in a series and that they’re done that are homers.
Milwaukee to their standard has had a really bad season and yet are still the 2 seed and if get going before and during the playoffs will be as legit a contender as anyone in the league.
As a fan I’m  tough on the Celtics as I’ve seen them have really good seasons for years now and collapse when it matters most.
Did you expect them to lose to the 8th seeded Heat last year who statistically was terrible across the board last regular season? Probably not, so why are we counting the bucks out?

I have not seen anyone "count the bucks out" in a series. You literally are the only one pushing this narrative.
We are discussing how the Bucks are playing in this moment and in this moment, they are not good.

But it does not change the fact you judge the Bucks and Celtics with different standards. Hard on the Celtics for everything little thing and you make excuses for the Bucks. You do carry the water for Milwaukee.

And it does not matter one bit if any fan counts any team out. Last time I checked we aren't playing the games.

the Bucks are not good?

At this current moment, no they are not particularly good. Their defense is still an issue. They have no third option on offense. They are not playing good basketball right now.

Can that change? Sure. But even their fanbase has them in trouble.

the Bucks are not good?

It depends on how you define "in the moment" and "good".

They're winning 66% of their games, so obviously they're a decent team on the season as a whole.  3rd rated offense is great, 19th rated defense is bad.  2-4 in their last 6 suggests that the Bucks aren't a good team in the immediate present, but their track record suggests that even the "great offense, below average defense" model allows them to win about 2/3 of their games.
