Bill’s monosyllabic press conferences after losses were tolerable when the Pats were a winning team. Now that we’re a losing team hearing “we didn’t play well, have to play better, coach better” over and over again is really annoying.

They question someone needed to ask Bill was 'your team stinks. Your QB stinks and you're the one who drafted the QB and assembled the team.' Why shouldn't you be fired?

So, it looks like Gonzo dislocated his shoulder and Judon has a biceps tear.  Both undergoing MRI's today.  I guess Shields MRI will be busy today!

As for tanking, right now we're 8 teams from the worse pick so I'd give up on Williams.  Right now, the Bears have the first two picks, which would probably be Williams and Harrison Jr. although maybe they do what Houston did and go QB / DE to help on both sides.  This is what happens when you don't tank and you are just good enough to suck but not suck bad enough.

Also, while I still believe in Bill the Coach, I've given up on Bill the GM and it's time to get one in house.

Patriots’ first-round pick Christian Gonzalez and pass-rushing standout Matthew Judon both are out indefinitely while they seek second opinions on their injuries, per sources. Gonzalez injured his shoulder, Judon suffered a lower bicep tendon tear.

Two significant losses.

National media is becoming more and more down on the Patriots.

The Patriots will be in the quarterback market next offseason
Mac Jones got benched in the third quarter of Sunday's loss in Dallas for Bailey Zappe. At the time of the benching, Jones was 12-for-21 with two interceptions. The score was 31-3 in favor of Dallas. The final score was 38-3, which tells you the switch to Zappe didn't really ignite anything.

Jones was pressured on 10 of 18 dropbacks in the first half, which is 56% and a massive number, but it highlights an issue that Jones has yet to overcome. He struggles significantly when pressured and hasn't made the kind of progress the Patriots had hoped to see in that area. The 35-point loss was the worst of Bill Belichick's career, and the 55 points the Patriots have scored this season are the fewest they've scored in the first four games of a season since 2000 -- Belichick's first year in New England.

Verdict: NOT AN OVERREACTION

Look, the Patriots are very undermanned at wide receiver. Jones has had three different offensive coordinators in three NFL seasons. There is plenty working against him. But as we said about Ridder, that's life, man. You have to overcome. And Jones hasn't done much of it.

The Patriots will have to decide by May 2 on Jones' fifth-year option for 2025, and if they continue to look this way on offense, they're probably going to be looking around at other options, even if they stick with him for another year. I'm not necessarily worried about Jones getting benched for Zappe moving forward. Remember there was a whole Jones-Zappe thing last year, and it didn't stick. Zappe hasn't shown much either.

It does need to be stated here that every quarterback (other than Arizona's Joshua Dobbs) who has faced the Cowboys so far this year has looked dreadful. And the Patriots still have three-quarters of a season for Jones to keep working with new coordinator Bill O'Brien and make some advancements. But if he doesn't? Yeah, I have to think a whole bunch of stuff is on the table in New England next spring.

I love Mock Drafts and just how inaccurate many of them are.  That said, here's the first that show the Pats going QB.  Most have them already taking an OT which makes sense, but if this kid is there, he might just be the QB to get.  He's a four or five star recruit, depending on who you follow.  I tend to lean primarliy to 247 which has him as the #62 overall prospect, #3 QB, #2 Dual Threat QB, meaning he can get out of the pocket if needed.  He's listed at 6'3" although many say it's closer to 6'1" and he's around 215#.  If we're on to another QB, this would be a pretty darn good get in the 7-7 range where we could be drafting.

Another kid that I like is Spencer Rattler.  A little bit smaller at 6'1" 200#, but he was a five star on 247, #9 overall prospect, #1 QB.

If the Pats lose the next two games to the Saints and Raiders, they should let Bill go. Move Mayo to head coach/ DC and see how the rest of the season goes.

If we lose any of the next two games, then I'm fully on board the tank train (Caleb Williams will go Chicago, but it's a loaded draft and lot of studs everywhere, even in QB)

I love Drake Maye. He is the prototype of what teams are looking for. Huge but mobile, cannon for an arm, yet throws a feathery ball.

It is just hard for me to believe that Belichick won't coach them to 5+ wins. That will take us out of the running for the truly franchise changing talents.

I must say, it's really hard to get enthused with Mac. He's like one step forward two steps back. We knew about the physical limitations, weak arm and not being able to run...but decision making was supposed to be what he's good at, coming out of the Tide factory  :-\

College studs and some not even that studly in college.  Most of them will flop in the NFL.  They certainly will fail if their o-line and receivers aren't good.

How would Sanders do in the pros? Seems like he has legs and a good arm. That’s all I know besides his daddy being Deon.

Sanders should be a 2nd or 3rd round pick, definitely not 1st. I do think he can succeed in the NFL, however I do think the last few weeks have shown that he has a lot to work on. I mean, some of his awesome games have mostly been against meh teams (TCU who lost everyone to the Draft, Nebraska, Colorado State). We saw how clueless he looked against Oregon, and even most of USC before they did pretty well on offense the 2nd half, though USC's defense isn't good either.

He strikes me though as someone who tries to be a hero too much, which can hurt a team. Like instead of throwing it away, he'll run around trying to make a play but in the process get sacked or force a bad turnover. Oregon and USC in particular (two good teams) benefitted a ton from that

LOL wow, JC Jackson back to New England

Who could have seen that coming!

But I'm wondering, are they adjusting his contract in any way? It seems dumb that we're going to pay JC Jackson a good chunk of money but refused to pay an actual tackle or WR1 this offseason
