I'm done with Belichick. He drafted Dobson over Allen or the Honey Badger. Sony Michel over Nick Chubb or Lamar Jackson. N'Keal over DK Metcalf or AJ Brown.

Ego? Benching Malcolm Butler in the Superbowl just to prove a point, and wasted another year of Brady and his 505 passing yards that game.

Hiring garbage coaches like Matt 'pencil guy' Patricia and Joe Judge to manage Mac Jones? Having Josh McDumb- coordinating the offense? Brady masked all of their issues. Shannon Sharpe is right, Brady responsible for most of NE's success. Belichick could've just called it quits after their last SB win, and now his legacy is ruined post-Brady.

He won Superbowls long before Tom was the GOAT. Was 11-5 with Matt Cassel. And has been about .500 without enough talent and with an under-skilled coaching staff since Tom’s departure. I can’t argue with his GM blunders, but his coaching career has been magnificent.  It may be time to go, but I’m still curious as to what he does with this injured team - physically and emotionally - a flustered QB, a porous o-line, a mediocre receiving crew, and a fed-up fan base.

Another horrible start. Pick-6 by Mac, O-Line continuing to get shredded, and Saints are about to make this a 2-score game. Yikes  :(

Stick a fork in this team. Time for Belichick to get axed.

he hasn't won superbowls without Tom.  Tom has always been Tom, he just wasn't the GOAT until he had the stats and winning to support it,  but even in those early SB's when they barely threw the ball, Tom came up huge when the team needed him to.  That is what a great QB does, he comes through in the clutch and covers up roster weaknesses.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Assuming they lose this which seems 99% likely, I'm all for tanking. We won't get Caleb Williams, but it's still a loaded draft at QB and other positions too. And yeah, Mac may not be the guy but neither is Belichick right now (key words: RIGHT NOW). He needs to be gone. Kraft needs to grow a pair and move on from him. He had no problem moving on from Brady, do the right thing and do it with Belichick too, he's been especially awful as GM of the team too

The dispiriting thing with this offense is that I wouldn't keep a single one of these guys.  They all suck.  They need upgrades at literally every position.  You can overhaul a position group fairly quickly but this looks like a several-year rebuild.  And as much as I trust Belichick to draft and trade for defense, I do not have the same faith in him on the other side of the ball.

Such an oversimplification. Parcells doesn't do any favors. He wouldn't have handpicked Belichick to coach the Giants D unless he didn't have confidence that he would be a good coach. Belichick went on to surpass any of these expectations. Taking shots at Bill in his 70's, at this point, is predictable and cheap. Trying to isolate Bill and TB12 from their 6 SB victories draws an incomplete picture.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Watch out, you gonna get a bunch of Patriot/Belichick faithfuls coming at you with pitchforks.  ;)

Sorry to say Belichick lovers, he's just a senile old timer now and should retire. Time for an overhaul. We aren't going anywhere with him post-Brady.

Yeah, I would trade 53 Patriots for a handful of game changers in this league like Mahomes, Allen, etc. That is how important it is to have a good/great QB.

Guys I care about going forward:

-Stevenson
-Henry
-Barmore
-Keion White
-Judon
-Duggars
-Gonzalez

That means they need 46 more good players. I think they need to draft another QB and make sure he's the right guy. I don't want them to target another qb over 30 like Denver has done.

I think Kraft had a harder time moving on from Brady than Bill. I think it was clear that Bill was ready to move on from Tom.

I agree- it's time for Bill to go. I don't think Kraft will fire him outright. I think it's more likely that Bill joins the Chargers or another team that is ready to win for a couple of years. Likely- not really. But much more likely than firing the greatest coach of all time into his retirement.

Edit: why can't the Patriots get Caleb Williams? They have won 1 game, have been playing horribly, and have a bottom 5 roster on paper. I love the Patriots- but let's admit it. These guys stink!

Fine with me. Belichick can get Shula's record with the Chargers, and I think Belichick will do great there for a few years before he retires. But it no longer is working here. And the way this is going, it'll take 3+ years for him to get another 18 wins to pass Shula. No thanks. Move on before it's too late.

We could get Caleb, I just think there's a few other teams more hideous than us, which might sound hard to believe. Broncos, Bears, etc. But we'll see a few weeks from now.

Yeah, Popovich sucks, too. No Duncan, no championships. Spurs should fire Pop because he is an embarrassment to the league with how bad his team is  ::)

I agree with everything you said, except for there being teams worse than the Patriots. They weren't very good to start the year, then just lost their two best defensive players. Mac Jones has no confidence. Neither does Zappe. The offensive line is horrible and hurt. I don't think I'm piling on when I say that this is one of the top 5 worst teams in the NFL. Scheduling, injuries, and effort late in the season will determine the draft order. I think the Pats will be right in there.
