This is going to be one of those "Onto Cincinnati" or, in the case, "Onto to New Orleans" situations.

Forget and move on.

New Orleans licking their chops on this team too.

I recall when the Pats first drafted Mac Jones, and how he was been treated like the 2nd coming of Brady, especially by Bill Simmons. I akin it to The C's drafting Tom Gugliotta after Bird retired and thinking he would be the Next Larry. In retrospect, I think this comparison was unkind to Gugliotta

We never drafted him what are you are talking about?

Boy this is gonna be a long week ahead.

And to top it off, Saints fans on social media are calling next week a "get right game" for the Saints

Man how far have we fallen...  :(

That might be the case if there was reason to believe this team can meaningfully improve.

But this offense is fundamentally broken. It's been broken for 6 straight years now. Belichick and his ego drove Tom Brady out of town. And for what? So he could build the worst offense in the league?

This team has no rudder. Nothing to look forward to. Barring a miracle where we grab a Brady or a Kurt Warner off the scrap heap, this team will be middling-to-terrible for the forseeable future.

And the players must have some sense of this. Things could get ugly.

It's not too late to tank for Caleb Williams.

Maybe he's thinking of Eric Montross? Or Rick Fox? Ron Mercer???

Lol. Those were dark days. Easy to get things mixed up.

Michael Smith is who came to mind for me. Although, he was drafted when Bird was still playing.

It sure as hell isn’t Googs, though.

Doesn't even have to be him. Even if they have say, a Top-6 pick, it's a very loaded draft all around including QBs. Lot of good options like Ewers, Maye, Bo Nix, Rattler, Penix Jr, Travis, McCarthy, etc.

Bears are probably getting Caleb at this rate regardless lets be real lol

I had to look that guy up. Just 2 years in the league. Man... The Celtics back then were a lot like the Pats now. Just no clear plan to transition from the old stars to the next generation.

I feel the Pats will experience a similarly painful stretch.

I watched some of the Bears/Broncos today out of morbid interest.

Those teams blow. Fields literally gave the game away. Just couldn't execute anything to run off clock, and committed at least one devastating turnover late.

The Broncos are nearly as bad. I can't believe how poorly that Wilson trade has gone for them.

This Pats team is just a mess right now. Defense is pretty good (most of the time), but the offense can't put anything together for any sustained length of time. I figured they'd get roasted by the Cowboys, but not by 35 while scoring only 3.

Watching this Jets/Chiefs game and it is just so clear how much the QB matters for the success of the entire team.  Obviously Mahomes is the best in the game, but Mac is closer to Wilson (probably the worst in the game) than he is to Mahomes.  That is the Patriots biggest problem.  They just don't have a QB that you can rely on.  Sure there are other problems on offense, but it all starts with the QB.

They got smoked and likely lost Judon for the rest of the season with a torn bicep. Woooof.

Yep patriots are way worse this year than last year. Will end up with a high draft pick and maybe get willliams. If only we had signed hopkins lol

If you watched any of the games this year, it’s pretty clear that the offensive line is the biggest problem. Mac was bad today, but they have been bad every game this season. How can you possibly evaluate the QB, WR’s or RB’s with a putrid O-line that collapses on almost every play. Stevenson averaged 2.1 yards per carry today… Enough said.
