With the 8th pick of the 2nd round…

The Chicago Bulls select…

The original MJ…

#1 in the NBA in Win Shares/OWS, 2nd in VORP and ORtng
#3 in MVP voting, one spot ahead of Kareem

27-5-4.5 on 51% / 78% splits (3’s werent measured, the first year they were he shot 36.8%. And only 26.8% usage.

DAVID THOMPSON, 1977-78
Man, pairing T-Mac with the Skywalker. That is some serious athleticism and scoring on the perimeter. Any 6'4" perimeter player who can shoot above 50% on 20FGAs is super impressive.

T-Mac and Thompson together is insane. That is high octane on crack.

Thanks Gouk!

His assist rate is north of 19%+ despite being a high volume scoring SG, and his usage for that scoring is south of 27%. Plus his outside scoring and three point shooting grading looks great for players pre-1980.

I think he and T-Mac will play well together, and the talent is unmatched.

There he goes, was wondering when he’d finally get picked.

This is the guy I had as a top 5 talent that I couldn't place. That season he took Bird to 7 was incredible.

I had trouble figuring out how to translate Thompson and particularly King to today's NBA. Especially with a dominant big. They both did so much of their damage in the mid-range and around the basket. In the modern game...I think you probably need 1-2 guys to give you some spacing for that. Plenty of time to find them and some distributors, though. Lots of scoring!

After Billups was picked it was either Thompson or King for me.

Had them ranked Thompson, Billups, King, but could swap the latter 2. King couldn’t shoot from deep, while some people say Thompson was better than Jordan.

The second half of the highlights I posted on the previous, a good ten minutes worth, show really sweet outside shooting and pull ups.

I've had some real difficulty separating some of those 70s and 80s high volume scorers. King's efficiency was stupidly high

That's a good 55-60PPG from each of those two pairings, man! High scoring duos

The Jazz are happy (and a little confused) to select Chris Bosh

Crap. Was hoping he would last a little bit longer.

Oooh, Bosh is a good one. Several seasons to choose from depending on what kind of guys you surround him with. Having the closest thing to LeBron in Grant Hill makes this fairly easy to project good chemistry too
