Memphis Grizzlies select Yao Ming.
Ah, awesome pick! I was hoping Yao would have a bit of a slide. What a fun and unique player

I had Parker top of my board today and then Yao.

Nice. I am shocked Yao lasted this long. I had him as a late first early second round pick.

Yao Ming is a cool pick. I never watched much of his games, so anyone who is more knowledgeable than me tell me how was he on defense?

Great value here- I was all over the place with where to rank Yao, I even considered him in the first round. The concern I had was that he played 57 games or less in his 3 best statistical years, but still a very good pick.

Slow. Dominant presence around the basket but couldn't move quickly enough away from the basket. Had to play drop coverage in PnR. Could be vulnerable to bigs who can shoot & drive. Dominant around the basket.

Absolutely owned Dwight Howard. Dwight could only score at the rim and Yao towered over him. On the other end, Yao's superior size and skill allowed him to get whatever he wanted in the post. One way traffic.

The guys that caused Yao more problems were when a team would move a big PF over to C and put him in PnRs like Boston did with KG late in the Q4 to win one game here in 2008 or 2009. He couldn't move well enough to handle that.

Very good help defender on the interior. Struggles away from the basket. Same as in one-on-one defensive situations. One of the most intimidating physical presences in the league around the rim.

Kevin Johnson is always the guy I think of whenever the phrase "he was ahead of his time comes to mind". He'd be much more highly valued if he played a decade later.

He and another 80s-90s point guard spring to mind with that expression

I might be the hold up if these next couple of picks don't come in soon. If not, I might have to pick at 5:30.

That Yao Ming, Vince Carter and Alex English team is a fun mix.

Still figuring out the last two spots. Some of my guys are coming off the board now.

If you want to PM me 2-3 names I can make your pick. I think theswitch was going to be unavailable now. Not 100% sure.

I don’t have a 3rd rounder, and I already have my big board of next 2 tiers set.

I just don’t post with fun images of font  :(
