Years ago somone called me out when I said Romeo was officially a bust after a 1-11 shooting game for Maine. He said he’d hold me to it and that post wouldn’t age well. 🤔I don't think that was me, but I admittedly was a Romeo supporter. I did say Romeo would beat out Nesmith in the 2021 preseason. Ultimately neither lasted to the 2022 preseason. He was always so passive offensively. I’m a firm believer that you can spot losers in summer league. If you are not impressing in summer league or G League, you are more than likely a bust. Success in summer league or G League doesn’t guarantee NBA success, but failure “guarantees” NBA failure IMO. Although Max Strus is one exception.

What do you think of offering Pritchard for Achiuwa, straight up. They make almost exactly the same. Achiuwa becomes our 4th big to replace Grant. I see him as more of a PF anyway. We would have to back fill Pritchard with Davison and Banton or go find a vet.

Right now he is NG which offers additional flexibility. I am not sure if Harrell's PO would have been guaranteed.
I'll defer to C21 here, but yes, I think we could sign him to the same non-guaranteed deal. It would just become a one year, subsidized deal (which saves the team some money) versus the second year of a two year deal. Currently he makes $2,413,304; spotrac has the minimum for guys with six years experience estimated as $2,528,233. So, Luke gets an extra $115k or so; we save around $300k on the cap books, because the league subsidizes the contract.
Blake Griffin signed a 1 year / $2,905,851 contract with the Boston Celtics, including $2,905,851 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $2,905,851. In 2023-24, Griffin will earn, while carrying a cap hit of $2,019,706.

Dario Saric and Christian Wood reportedly have only had vet min offers so far. The Celtics should grab one of these two guys for part of the MLE and fill that need for a backup power forward.

The only reason not to do that is if they want to trade him this season because he has veto rights, but if that's the case, they should just cut him and sign someone else to a non-guaranteed contract instead. My guess is that will happen either a) when they need to sign someone and have to clear $400k, or b) at the end of training camp, when they'll give him a partial guarantee (because if he's made the roster, a partial guarantee effectively doesn't cost anything).

I think he is a good signing for someone else at the MLE. His basketball reputation has taken too much of a hit whatever about his locker room reputation. He is a better player than he is being given credit for. He is a capable defensive player when he plays PF. It was making him a full-time center and even a full time center in a defensively challenged lineup that made him look so bad on defense. He isn't that. He ain't a great defender but he is capable. His size, speed and athleticism bail him out of a lot situations and as a 2nd shot-blocker at PF he is a net positive on D for his teams. Good offensive player. Good rebounder. Capable defender. Someone is going to get a steal with this guy. Bloody Jason Kidd misusing him and Wood gets all the blame for Kidd's errors. Unfair.
