Rockets have signed Aaron Holiday.

Thybulle is reportedly signing an offer sheet with Dallas. I would expect Portland to match, unless they come up with a sign-and-trade.
QuoteThe Charlotte Hornets and Houston Rockets are among the teams that have shown interest in free-agent point guard Aaron Holiday, league sources told HoopsHype. Holiday is considered a 3-and-D point guard during his five-year NBA career thus far as a 37.7 percent shooter from beyond the arc.Holiday is another guy I'd have some interest in. Allegedly he was one of the deal-breakers in the Hayward-for-Turner talks; we wanted him, the Pacers refused. Funny how that worked out for all involved.

QuoteThe New Orleans Pelicans waived 13-year NBA veteran Garrett Temple, as first reported by HoopsHype. Temple’s $5.4 million salary for the 2023-24 season would’ve been fully guaranteed by July 7 if he remained on the roster.Temple, 37, has been considered a steady veteran locker room presence and mentor over the past six years with Sacramento, Memphis, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Chicago, and New Orleans. After waiving Temple and his $5.4 million salary, the Pelicans are still slightly over the luxury tax with 13 players. Another cost-cutting move would have to happen for New Orleans to duck the tax, as HoopsHype colleague Yossi Gozlan noted on Twitter. With that in mind, Pelicans guard Kira Lewis, who’s owed $5.72 million for the 2023-24 season, could be the next player eventually on the move. Lewis was made available in trade talks ahead of the trade deadline, as reported by HoopsHype.I like Temple as an end of bench guy, too. Moreso than Banton.

Moreso than Banton.Maybe 3 years ago, but Temple is definitely a lesser player than Banton now. Temple's last 2 seasons have seen him shoot terribly nor score at all. He can still play D, but if we're going with an iffy shooter who plays good defence I would rather the guy who isn't 37.

Since I see no on-court performance difference, I'd prefer the respected voice in the lockerroom.

I wonder if the Mavs still loop in San Antonio to the sign-and-trade for Grant, or if it just becomes a Boston-Dallas deal given that the Mavs retain their MLE that they had used on Thybulle.
Atlanta Hawks All-Star Dejounte Murray and CEO of Klutch Sports Rich Paul are finalizing a four-year, $120 million veteran maximum extension with the franchise, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Deal includes a player option.
