Gallinari gone too? Didn’t get to see him play in green & white

He might not really be heathy enough to give much this year.

What is this based on? He had a standard injury and the standard healing time has elapsed. No one has said he is still hurt. What is your source?

Also if this deal goes through KP would be the highest paid Celtics next year. 36 million PO for KP, Tatum gets 32.6, Brown would be at about 30.7.
So? Tatum and Brown are going to be Maxed out, so not sure what this matters?

Why can't we give up Pritchard instead of Gallo? Our bench has no depth or pop now. If it were Pritchard instead of Gallo I would love the deal, but now I don't. KP is intriguing for sure but he is hurt a lot and on top of it we have no depth for when/if he gets hurt. Do not like this unless there is another domino to fall.

I like the fit of KP a lot more but based on us giving up hot garbage for Brogdon and LAC doing the same, but us now giving him up plus Gallo, don't like the value. Great value for us last year and for LAC this year, though.
i suppose one possible reason might be matching salaries for the trade. pritchard will make just over $4 million next season  while gallinari will make $6.8 million.

another reason might be that pritchard has more value to the celtics since brogdon would be gone.

I get beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all, but my personal opinion is that Pritchard is not good. I think he is awful. I would rather give up him and also like Champagne or some low salaried nobody to match. Pritchard is just not a good player. He bricks a lot. He brings nothing other than the 3 and he isn't even good at 3s.

He's a 40% career 3 point shooter.  He's averaged less than a turnover per game for his career. 89% career FTs.

Same, and I'm not even good. That's way too much of a volume-based stat to use for someone like Pritchard
I'm bitter.

He was only 36% last year. Saying 40% career is cute but when your career is only 3 years AND the most recent year you played less, shot less 3s, and your percentage went down... that is just misleading. He also doesn't shoot that many 3s for that to matter even if he did play more, AND most of those are in garbage time against 3rd or 4th stringers. It's a no from me on Pritchard, dawg.

Ok, He shot 36% from 3 this year. You pick and choose I'm going by career averages. You're going by what exactly? Is he shooting Freethrows against lesser players? When he shoots 40% for his career in 6 years can we count that?

0.4 FTA per game. Literally cherry-picking a state. I get it, he is a white guy so you probably pull for him. But he is not good. But, yes, we may win banner 18 with our 12th man lighting the world on fire with his 0.4 FTA per game.

Oh, just a troll! Got it!

Not sure how I am a "troll" for simply stating the facts. 0.4FTA per game. But he is a 40% career 3pt shooter on very few attempts in garbage time, so I guess my glasses are not green enough for just acknowledging the truth.

My humble opinion, this is a no-brainer! Brogden was great, but Hurt when we needed him most!
Galo never played?? will he ever be the same?? Who knows, Porzingis has the chance to be dominant.

There's really no such thing as a standard injury. Look at Lonzo Ball, a meniscus tear might legitimately end his career. I'm not saying Gallo wouldn't have contributed this year, he very well might. But he's going to be 35 when the season starts and this is his 2nd ACL tear in the same knee.

I didn't call him racist at all. Saying maybe you view him as higher because he is an American white guy is just kind of stating common sense. People often pull for people who look like them.

Fair enough. Who knows, maybe Brad sees it that way, too.. and he knows more than any of us in terms of specifics on the injury etc. It just seemed like we had two 6th man types and we lost both of them. Seems like the bench is awfully bare now.

I have a strong sense that Porzingis will not make a big impact here in Boston. The main reason being that he usually does not throughout his career. His impact tends to be less than his at times guady stats. Not an empty stats player but a less than player.

That said, Porzingis doesn't need to make a big impact here in order to be a success. This team is so close to winning a title than even a small impact could be enough to put this team over the top and win the Championship. That is exciting.
Ya. Pretty sure he’s always been the #2 option on his other teams. Here, he’d be the third. Hopefully it’s a big difference.

I expect it to work the other way. I look at Porzingis as a player who does better in bigger roles and worse in smaller roles. So shifting to a lesser role in Boston will negatively impact him.

I am also thinking of Chris Bosh going from #1 in Toronto to #3 in Miami. Kevin Love #1 in Minnesota to #3 in Cleveland. How their on-court impact decreased a lot with the shift into a smaller role.

Bosh a high BBIQ player and smart team defender who became more of an intangibles guy than a star player in Miami. Kevin Love did not have the defensive chops to do what Bosh did defensively and K Love never found his role offensively next to LeBron & Kryrie so he disappointed even more.

I look at Porzingis as a guy with defensive talent (unlike K Love) but a low BBIQ. I don't think he finds his role in a team offense well. And I do not trust him to dedicate himself to defense because whenever he hasn't gotten the ball enough on offense his defensive effort has dropped off.
Very good point. Depends on how much of a team player he is. Should have the opportunity to be much more efficient in his game but it would depend on where his head is at.

Don't really care, not looking for a date. Just a wild guess about why someone would talk up a glorified garbage-time player. Any objective person can tell there is a reason he doesn't sniff the floor, and his stats have all regressed.
