I'd like Kabengele as our other two-way.  A spot on the 15-man is a bit too enthusiastic for me unless we strike out on other potential big man depth options.

I'd prefer to get Begarin set up in a top league in Europe for one more year, if possible.  I like him but I don't think he's ready to help us yet.

Jackson, Thomas, T. Williams, Ryan... if they're open to camp invites then let them come try to earn a spot in a few months, but I don't see the need to commit to them any more than that.

I'd like to see Ryan & Trevion spend a year in the G-League refining things. Playing alongside JD too. I would want Begarin over in the US getting some of our coaching, but I'm not sure it's possible.

Happy to see Brodric Thomas and Jackson go elsewhere. No interest.

Kabengele I like. Would give him a two-way at this stage.

Co-sign. I’d leave Begarin overseas at this point if it means that the C’s could keep all 3 of Ryan, Trevion, Kabengele. Still not sure Hauser will be better than either Thomas or Jackson and Kornet is at that age where I don’t expect him to get better.

Hauser has an elite NBA skill, at least seemingly.  Jackson is older than Kornet, and has shown nothing in the NBA.  Thomas is 25 and similarly has shown nothing.  Hauser is the youngest of the bunch, he's got decent size, and he has shot extremely well in college, in the G-league, and in limited games in the NBA.  He's never shot below 40% from 3PT in any season at any level.

I'm surprised so many fans want non-NBA players on the team.
you're not going to get NBA vets for all 15 slots on the active roster.

Keep Begarin in Europe another year.  use 2-way on Davison.  put Kabengele on the 15 man roster.  you can still try for 14 NBA vets - if we need the 15th to have NBA experience, we're having a really bad year with injuries

Yup, and beyond that you need to develop a pipeline of guys by giving the best prospects some minutes if you can, so you need a few on the roster.

There's no real reason to sign him to the NBA roster, as opposed to a 2-way.  It costs the team more money, and it doesn't really add a lot of options other than allowing him to play in playoff games.

Hauser has a nice shot, no denying that. Seems like the worst athlete of the bunch, though. Poor lateral quickness, can’t jump. His defense has not been good in the summer league. Guys go right by him.

Luke Kornet in 10 games with Maine last season:
Played 27 mins per game and averaged: 11.9pts, 7.6rebs, 3.9ast, 2.6blk, while shooting 50% from the field, 31% from 3pt and 45% from the FT line.

Mfiondu Kabengele in 4 summer league games:
Played 25 mins per game and is averaging: 14pts, 9.3rebs, 2.8ast, 1.8blk, while shooting 56% from the field, 36% from 3pt and 78% from the FT line.

Go cheap and get Begarin, Ryan, Kabe then two way for Williams.

Brog/PP
Smart/White/Begarin
Brown/Grant/Ryan
Tatum/Gallo/Hauser
TL/Al/Kornet/Kabe

JD and Williams on two ways.
Yikes, no thanks.
Just preparing for this ownership.

I don't mind Kabe or Kornet neither should see the floor much. They will only see time after Gallo and Grant which puts them with a lot of DNPs.

JD and Begarin prefer on two-ways. Would absolutely go to a few Maine games. They seem like a dynamic pairing that could develop. Both need playing time to improve so don't really want them on this roster. It would hurt them.

Ryan I honestly think should be on the roster if the team signed Hauser. Ryan has been just as good in the g-league and better this year in summer league.

I think a Wing is what team should target with the TPE 6'6 to 6'9. A legit backup to the Jays. Grant might have filled the roll had he kept the weight off during the year. He clearly didn't. Slim Grant was gone after 3 months.

Mark Murphy, in a podcast this morning, said Kabengele was the best G-League big last season and the most logical signee for the 15-man roster.

It's simultaneously not exciting but also super exciting.

Aren't they the 10th most expensive roster in the league now? That's what I heard anyway.

They are in top 10 possible 5 this year. Historically they don't spend, which is why my first post was “go cheap“ and fill the rest of roster with minimum contracts with low guarantees. They usually like to stay below the tax line. They are well above now.

Please sign Kabengele to the 15 man roster.

I prefer to think his slow start in the NBA was just a bump in the road.  He was seen as a very good prospect coming out of Florida.  Some bigs take longer.
He should get better with full time instruction on the C's...they can mold him to do exactly what they want.  Not sure why he'd be behind Kornet honestly...
