One of Kabengele, Ryan, Thomas to a two-way.

Nobody added to the main roster.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I don't know if it is 100% correct, but I just checked Kornet's contract status on Spotrac and it appears he only has a $100K guarantee. It is then $300K on 8/15. $1.07M on opening night. Fully guaranteed ($2.13M) on 1/10. And 2nd year is unguaranteed until 1/10/24

I realize Brad recently spoke highly of Kornet, and maybe he really does believe in him, but I don't think you complicate his contract details this much unless you are at least leaving open the possibility of replacing him. $100K is nothing and possibly just a 'thank-you' for being a team player.

If the team prefers Kabengele or another vet min Center and even wants to leave Kornet's roster spot open, then this allows them to do so. Maybe Kornet signs with Maine again on an Exhibit 10 contract like he did last year and we bring him up after the trade deadline if desired.

It was reported by Brian Robb after his signing 2 weeks ago that it was only partially guaranteed, so I believe the Spotrac numbers are probably correct or close to it.  I was expecting something similar to this, personally.

honestly, i would be a bit surprised if the celtics started the season with all 15 roster spots filled. they are over the tax, and though the celtics ownership is more than willing to spend for a contender, i do not think anyone in the 15th slot will make any difference in the w/l column.

moreover, they may want to keep an open roster spot for opportunities that might arise during the season.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Go cheap and get Begarin, Ryan, Kabe then two way for Williams.

Brog/PP
Smart/White/Begarin
Brown/Grant/Ryan
Tatum/Gallo/Hauser
TL/Al/Kornet/Kabe

JD and Williams on two ways.

I am not sure Begarin deserves that spot over Thomas.

Begarin - let him play in Europe another year.  He’s still too raw.

Jackson - invite him to camp, sign him only if they can’t do better

Kabengele - sign him to the 15, he looks like a solid 3rd string center.  Still hoping for a better experienced backup.

Ryan - sign him to a 2 way

Thomas - cut ties.  He couldn’t handle the ball against pressure

Williams - cut ties.  Great passing, good post up play.  The rest of his game is weak.  Not an NBA player unless he can learn to shoot in the future.  Given his free throw shooting in his 4 years of college, I doubt it will happen.

I'd like to see Ryan & Trevion spend a year in the G-League refining things. Playing alongside JD too. I would want Begarin over in the US getting some of our coaching, but I'm not sure it's possible.

Happy to see Brodric Thomas and Jackson go elsewhere. No interest.

Kabengele I like. Would give him a two-way at this stage.

I think Ryan buys into exactly type of game Ime and Brad want .  He has more diverse skill set  than Hauser .  Not afraid to stick his nose in the fray for the ball.

I like Kabangelle tuffness, rebounding , block outs , great team mate  plus IQ . ,  add Ryan and JD .

I'm surprised so many fans want non-NBA players on the team.
